Please go listen to Flyleaf's "Cassie" It is a tribute to Cassie Bernal, a young girl killed in the Columbine tradegy a few years back. The song centers around how her killers asked her if she believed in god. She said yes and they ended it with a shot to her head. Also, if you havent, read the book "She Said Yes" this also centers around Cassie's tragic end and her friends. This is one of my favorite songs and books. Lyrics; The question asked in order To save her life or take it The answer no to avoid death The answer yes would make it Make it Do you believe in God Written on the bullet Say yes to pull the trigger Do you believe in God Written on the bullet And Cassie pulled the trigger All heads are bowed in silence To remember her last sentence She answered him knowing what would happen Her last words still hanging in the air In the air Do you believe in God Written on the bullet Say yes to pull the trigger Do you believe in God Written on the bullet And Cassie pulled the trigger How many will die I will die I, I will say yes Do you believe in God Written on the bullet Say yes to pull the trigger Do you believe in God Written on the bullet And Cassie pulled the trigger (Do you believe) Do you believe in God (Do you believe) Do you believe in God (Do you believe) Do you believe in God And I will pull the trigger
I youtube'd(haha) the song and listened while reading the lyrics I like the lyrics, though I've never been a fan of Flyleaf. I've done a lot of research on the Columbine Shootings, and I jumped immediately when I saw the name Cassie Bernall.
After the VT shooting I researched the Columbine tragedy for at least an hour and a half. Those lyrics are very deep, yet I firmly believe that the two gunman were in there to kill and would not have spared her regardless of her decision. These two were not against religion, they were against the whole school, they wanted to see everyone dead, yet when their original plan didn't work they ended up just messing around instead of having an "organized" slaughter. It's tough to say that, but from my research that is what I have come to firmly believe, and that's all I have to say about that.
I absolutely agree. I believe there was no way that they would have let her live if she had said she didn't believe in God. It made no difference to them. I honestly believe that people who do things like that don't do it for a reason - they find a reason.
