Whenever I play games like these, I use no$gba (google for the newest download since they only release newest to donaters, not off the actual site) and just get the roms I want to play xD

No I actually am guilty of owning an action replay. So no comment there. I played Pokemon yellow,blue,red, etc etc etc..all legit until Platinum. It's kinda addicting cuz it's tedious to train when you don't have much time. But I usually run a game through legit at least once before I do cheats.
I did that up until like.. Silver? Spent hours training my sexy dragonite =] What I like about the no$gba is that it has the action replay built in, and so I can just copy/paste things off the internet and bam! I pretty much cheated my way through Diamond (or was it Pearl ?), downloaded Platinum only to learn it was pretty much just a remake with a new ending, and gave up xD It definitially is addicting, once I started to give myself an uberly amazing pokemon, I just couldn't stop. It's just so easy and free of wasting time that could be going to other things! Training against lame people on the paths was so tedious it started to get annoying =[
Pokemon is the single best game ever. Recently our school went through our own pokemon craze, played on our USB keys in class the ENTIRE time Lmfao. Definitely getting this and wasting my time.
Batteries. The oldschool gameboys used AA and the newer school ones use AAA. Not sure what DS and all the such use since the last gameboy I've has is color.
Oh. Damn, I hated the batteries. Which is why I loved the SP. Crazy love for that piece of square plastic. <3
