I've spent the last couple hours watching episodes of Pokemon from the original series (yes, this is how I'm spending my Saturday night. My parents are having a poker-playing party anyways, so meh. XD), and I never realized exactly how oriented around political-correctness even TV shows are...(at least in the US; I don't know how/if this applies elsewhere?) After all, the Pokemon episode where Clefairy made its debut would probably be banned now for mentioning "prayer." (Though those Clefairies really do seem like a cult.) The debut episode of Jynx was banned in the US for racism, then finally released. The episode where Ash apparently caught 30 Tauros (they kept running in front of his Pokeballs in the Safari Zone?) is banned for guns appearing, and worries over terrorism. (Actually, almost all the Safari Zone episodes are banned for involving guns. The fact Team Rocket uses tranquilizer guns and bombs throughout the entire series seems irrelevant...) The Tentacool/Tentacruel episode was banned after the September 11th terrorist attacks because a Tentacruel destroys a skyscraper in it. Vague connections ftw? The only episode Porygon ever appeared in being banned seems reasonable, considering the seizures it caused, but really...
