Apparently books have a chance of not disappearing when you read it to your pets...

..Where/how did you find that information out?

That'd be REALLY sweet for old school books..

If it happened to you, maybe just a glitch?

Its possible but I somehow doubt it...then people would buy like books worth like 10m and then just sell them but still get the +int!

Key word in first post = CHANCE to not lose it. That'd be a gamble that more often than not would not pay off ;)

Hm, yeah. Where was this announced? Personally, this is probably perfect for any players who are actively reading to their pets for the intelligence points. If they read an expensive book and it disappears, great, they still get those int points for their pets. If they read an expensive book and it doesn't disappear, even better, they can resell.

Yea, because more and more older users are leaving everyday. People get fed up with the ads and NC mall items fast.

Aww, shucks. Now I wish I had an old account so I could read books and then sell them. Unless they become soulbound?

I wonder why TNT even cares about retaining old users. If they are targeting a younger age group, why would they care about old geezers like us? ;)

After all, we are probably making things less fun for the young users by causing massive inflation and making rare things unaffordable.

not really..i think a spoilt lil 8 year old would beg her mum/dad to cough up the $ for neopets more than a 20+ year old willing to come up $ for premium on neopets :)..

the new perk is kinda good :)..imagine buying a 3 Mil book and being able to read+resell it for a profit :)..sweet..

I paid for premium for a few months... >_> lol Idk, I think the older neopian community would be more willing to spend money on premium since they have easier access to it. But yea, I think the idea of an expensive book not disappearing is great.. but I know that it's not a perk I'm really excited about since I won't be taking advantage of it. I know with my luck my books would still always disappear like before. XD

Has anyone with an aged account try this? I was wondering what percent it was... I have a feeling its low though... near 5% or something. Something we shouldn't rely on :p

If it's that low would it really be considered a perk?? lol That'd be completely laughable and almost pointless...

lol. actually i didn't thought of this..but if its like 50% or something, it would be really unfair for the 3years+ accounts..

Yeah, I agree. But I feel as though if they put it too high... It could be easily abused and people would cry that its unfair. And TNT did say it was a "small chance" so maybe 10%. :yup:

Yep, exactly what they are doing. Trying to level the playing field for the n0obs as well as make it more enjoyable for the older/richer players. You can't do both at the same time. Hope they realize that...lol

Sorry for bumping this up but is there any more information about this 'perk'? I haven't heard about this anywhere..
I have a fairly old account (100+ months) and I just read, oh about ~40-50 books (spent around 1mil) to my reading pet and all of them disappeared as usual, so I was quite surprised to read about this perk here.

of course, I could just have really bad luck. :p
