There used to be a way to see how many potatoes there were by looking at the source code. Unfortunately, they changed the way it was written so this is no longer possible, or is it. This is, as far as I know, the first time anyone has noticed this way to count the potatoes. It is not very useful when counting most of the lower numbers of potatoes, because it does take a few seconds. In the new method, they create a table, and in each cell, they either make it blank, or they have the image. We shall exploit said table to our advantage. Step 1: Open Microsoft Word Step 2: Open the game Potato Counter (not the Extreme one) Step 3: If you have lots of potatoes, right click, then click View Source Step 4: Use ctrl+f or edit - find to find 'potato1', 'potato2', 'potato3', or 'potato4'. It doesn't matter which. These are each unique parts of the names of the link for each potato image. Step 5: Find the line (you should be on it) that starts like this and goes on for quite a ways: Code (Text): <table align=center cellpadding=3 cellspacing=0 border=0><tr><td width=40> </td><td width=40> </td><td width=40> </td><td width=40> </td><td width=40> </td><td width=40> </td><td width=40><img src='http://images.neopets.com/medieval/potato4.gif' width=40 height=40 border=0></td> Step 6: Copy this whole line. To do this the fastest I start highlighting from the left, then go down to the very beginning of the next row. This will highlight the entire line. Step 7: Paste this code into Microsoft Word. Step 8: Hit ctrl+h or edit - replace Step 9: In the 'Find what:' section, type 'potato' Step 10: Hit replace all. Step 11: A box should pop up that says something like this: "Word has completed its search of the document and has made 1922 replacements" Step 12: The number it says is the number of potatoes. My record for potatoes is 1922 at the moment lol . Good luck and count those potatoes!
Nice guide for the legit But if you want to be illegit, there's a Potato Counter Greasemonkey script in my guide: viewtopic.php?f=80&t=18253
I used to have a SCAR script for it too, but I accidentally hit delete when I was messing around with my files lol. Edit: Also, my way is probably still faster when you get 1922 potatoes like I did when I first used this. When I saw all those potatoes, I was like, "I WILL get this right!" so I found a new way to get it right lol.
