I've noticed that while there are a few reasons to upload programs/files to NF, there isn't a huge motive why. I think I have the perfect idea to make people upload more files/programs. The suggestion is the following: -When someone buys your program, you get 50% of the cash they payed to get the program. For example. Say you upload a program with a cost of 10 cash. For every purchase, you get 5 cash. If you have a program worth 40 points, for every purchase you get 20 points. It's the perfect motive for people to upload stuff! Just an idea, FX
I'm new but I'm also a programmer and think this idea is very good. It would be an easier way for people to obtain cash also. It would also speed up production of hacks.
yes allot of the programmers here dont do it for the cash but I think they should get something out of it for all that hard work.. i just think 50% is a little high. lol..
Alright, I'll make a poll right now. ---- Programmers should deserve to get something back from their program. Thats just my opinion though. It's a reward system, rewarding hard work.
I don't do it for cash... I upload program cause I like making neopets life "easier" for the members here. And I think it's more of a "I'm sure I can code this" challenge for myself. Futhermore, the peoples who upload programs here usually are active users and thus, high in rank, having alot of posts (alot of cash too) and don't really care about programs except for one or two (I won't probably never bother coding something like the AU). That was my point of view... But let's say that we decide to give a % back, 10% should be the maximum. It's enough to get a HUGE cash reserve.
It would be a pain for mods to distribute the cash back to the programmers. Besides, 8 out of the 10 contributors are Level V+ so cash doesn't affect them. Also I believe most of the programs are made for themselves, they just slap on the nf auth since they already made it...although some progs aren't used by the owner. EDIT: If anything, they would just make higher priced programs lol
That's what I'm thinking; they'd just make pricier programs. 10% back seems pretty reasonable to me, though.
lol, we all appreciate your good intentions but... 1. Programmers already get cash from mods/admins 2. Most programmers get Level 5 pretty quickly (if they aren't one already), so they get free programs
whatever its a good idea for new programmers to join and post programs...getting lvl 5 isnt that easy cuz some people (like me) dont feel like posting 10 times a day to get 750 posts
Word. As much as I'd love to be level 5, I don't have the time to post 10 times a day. Oh wait, lol, I have an average of 10.77 posts per day. ^^ lol. I agree though. Lots of people don't have the time to post that man times a day to get free programs, so the people who do pay to buy the programs should, indeed, be thanked by cash.
That's true But honestly, its probably just easier to ask a mod for some cash. More likely than not they'll give it to you if they know you contribute programs.
The members with the coder award already get the benefit of 50% off programs. I think that's more than enough, without the cash back system. So if programmers have bought a program, pm a mod and they'll readjust your forum cash.
