Proxy Servers - a FAQ and How-To. What is a proxy? The technical definition of a proxy is as follows - proxy servers are specialized web servers that allow web browsers to receive web pages from web servers without communicating with them directly. Proxy servers are often used to provide more secure web access in organizations; the proxy server is allowed to connect to the Internet, but the individual web browsers are only allowed to "talk" to the proxy server. What's all that gobbledeegook? Basically, a proxy makes the website you're going to think that you are someone you are not. It's an internet costume. A mask. & If you play your cards right, TNT (the neopets team) could never know GreanBeans0038 and BeansAndCornbread884 are both your accounts. What are the benefits of a proxy? This is where you'll want to find an anonymous proxy. Here are some useful links: http://www.samair.ru/proxy/ http://www.multiproxy.org/anon_proxy.htm http://www.digitalcybersoft.com/ProxyList/fresh-proxy-list.shtml That should be enough to get you started. If you have any other questions, just ask. And remember! Some programs that you can download here have proxy support! Have fun hiding!
http://www.peacefire.org is a really helpful site to check out, it will let you literally create a proxy, not just run one through your internet. And they have multiple ones that you can go on and type in URLs and access them, meaning no parental controls, no websense, no anything.
Nice guide I didn't check out the Proxy sites you listed but I use http://www.xroxy.com/ Its nice because you can sort by country and latency to get the best proxy for you
I'll just add that there's some class of proxy, some anonymous, some less, some more so be sure to find a proxy that is completly anonymous. There's some program on download.com that do just that: verify a proxy list to get the best one.
Thank you very much! I really didn't know much about proxys and whatnot, but this helped me A LOT. + Rep for sure!
gj man, I was gonna create a guide b/c everyone kept asking questions about them, lol I guess you beat me to it edit: btw that won't work for firefox 2.0, instead go to: Tools>Options>Advanced tab>Network>Connection Settings>Manual Proxy Configuration
Here's a partial list of the ones I use: http://www.publicproxyservers.com/page1.html http://www.digitalcybersoft.com/ProxyLi ... list.shtml? http://www.proxy4free.com/page1.html http://www.anonymitychecker.com/page1.html http://www.proxz.com/proxy_list_high_anonymous_0.html http://www.checker.freeproxy.ru/checker ... roxies.php http://tools.rosinstrument.com/proxy/ http://www.samair.ru/proxy/ http://www.multiproxy.org/anon_proxy.htm
the best one is definetally https://www.stupidcensorship.com no schools have it blocked, and it can bypass most because its https, not http.
I tried that and if I was TNT I could still see my IP. To make sure you're completely anonymous... ALWAYS be sure to check you proxy by going to: http://whatismyipaddress.com/ If you can see your real IP there... so can TNT Perhaps this topic needs to be sticky and also explain "tunneling" Hope this helps. And.... if anyone knows any elite high anonymous proxies... please let me know!
Very nice, thanks for the information on it. I heard it helps protect you while ABing, not sure how true that is. Ill get me one though, thanks.
guide Nice guide, perhaps you could include these images aswell: Internet Explorer: FireFox: NetScape: Opera I found them on another site[/list]
