Question about Unconverted pets

So I have a question. I noticed a big fad on the Neopet boards for unconverted pets and I just have a general question about them.

If I happen to obtain one and I zap that little man with a lab ray and it changes from like (for example) a UC Faerie Ixi to like a red JubJub, will it remain UC or will it convert? Is there ANYTHING that would make it automatically convert?

 

As long as your UC changes color/species/gender somehow, it will be converted.

Using a paint brush on it will convert it.
Using a morphing/trans potion on it will convert it.
The lab ray can convert it
Playing with a magical plushie can convert it
Some books (rare) and potions can convert it too.

Just a rough list.

 

As above, however it cannot be converted by a random event.

Zapping UC pets can turn them into regular converted pets, so just don't bother using the lab ray on your UC pets...

As long as you don't alter it in anyway, it will remain UC.

 

Your UC Plushie Nimmo can ONLY stay as it is!

 

If the pet itself isnt of any significant value to you, it can always be traded for a different pet, whether you're looking for UC or with BD stats or a specific name

UC plushies usually have a pretty good value so depending on the name you could get a lot of offers.
