I visit the Trading/Auction boards really often and there are so many freaking resellers. And, yeah, sometime if I'm desperate I'll sell to them but I usually avoid it. But, they can really annoy me. There are good ones, who offer decent prices where both parties make some money but then there are those people who offer like 105k on a MP or stamp worth 800k or something like that. And it's just annoying. What's your thoughts on resellers?

Yeah I find them annoying too, but I always fist pump to myself mentally when I feel like I've ripped them off LOL. Like I'll keep haggling or sell them items that are just crap. I mean who do they even resell this crap to? Some of the items are only ever worth anything if some one has an obscure gallery.

What really bugs me are the resellers to whom I sell then try to sell the same exact items to other resellers. Doesn't that break the rule of reselling...? They're supposed to be patient and try to get full value for the items but they just go and sell to another reseller.. For what? 20k profit? Is that really worth it?

Well I cant really hate on them too much because I use to be a reseller myself, and made a lot of nps from it, but it does seems like their offers are going lower and lower with each passing year :p Its mostly the noobs you gatta worry about though, they call themselves resellers but really they have no clue what they are doing, which is why they offer so low, they want to keep it safe.

It's a good business and helps restockers out. You get to a point where you get diminishing returns by spending the time selling the stuff you restock for its full worth. During that same amount of time, you could have restocked more items and gained more profit than you would've by haggling up the price of one item. You have to be smart about it of course so that you're not just simply being ripped off.

I don't think resellers are annoying. Whenever you're selling something and you want to sell for full price, you could just avoid & ignore the resellers. If you want to sell something quickly, then resellers are super handy.
If I'm selling UB items I quite regularly sell to resellers, because I'm too impatient to wait until they sell for full price.

Heheh, before I go on, I'd like to first let you guys know that I'm a reseller myself. Not hardcore, but I do it sometimes. So, yep, here's my opinion:

Well, when the items are HTS, usually it's because they can't be 'used'. This is why MP's and (good) BD weapons are ETS. It's generally easier for these items to fetch the full price. But for items like furniture and gifts, they're HTS because, to non-collectors (which make up most of the population), they're pretty much 'unusable'. So naturally they're going to go for lower.

It also takes a LOT of patience to be a reseller. I mean, the resellers are reselling with a goal in mind: to buy the item. They won't offer that low just for the sake of annoying you. For me, I try not to insult the buyer as well, by offering reasonably (i.e. trying to gauge what this person's looking for, then offering a tad bit lower). Although I do know that there are resellers who offer as low as possible for the sake of being 'safe', but usually these are just inexperienced resellers.

Also, I think it's perfectly fine for a reseller to sell the item to another reseller. I mean, the reason why a reseller buys an item is because he, well, wants to resell it! So as long as he makes a profit, yeah it makes sense. Although I'm a little o_O at the 20k profit thing you mentioned. Hmm, if he bought it in the 100k range, considering the profit-payment proportions, I think that's fine. But if he bought it for say, 600k, that's o_O 'cause there's just too much opportunity cost incurred in buying and selling the item xD

To clarify, though: I do get mad when people 'lie' to me. I've met this stamp collector who bought a stamp off me because "she didn't have it in her collection", but she ended up reselling it. That, to me, puts me off. That's just dishonest and wrong! Although, yeah, she does have every right to resell it, but... T___T

Well, to sum up, there are experienced and inexperienced resellers, and sensitive and not-so-sensitive ones. Depends on who you prefer to work with. All in all, I think that reselling is a perfectly legit business. Don't generalise against resellers; I think you may just be put off by individual resellers, not reselling as an activity :)

Also, what kinda bugs me are these ETS Resellers and people who sell to them. I've been playing for over 9 years and ETS resellers never existed a few years it back. I dont understand why a person would sell something like a Baby PB to these people. I mean.. these are the easiest things to sell. Why would you need to sell it a discounted price? x_x Plus, it's not like these people need NP urgently or anything. No patience. :|

profitable, but hard to find a person who will not try to impose a price in which you cannot make any profit....

^ Oh! Those resellers, imo, are just playing it safe. They reap profits far less slowly because it's low risk: (1) There are less people willing sell at reseller prices for ETS and (2) 'reseller' prices for ETS are probably like what, 20k (yep, what you said).

As for the people selling them at reseller prices, well, idk. That just doesn't make sense. No experience at the TP I guess? o_O

most of them are idiots and the only way they buy something is when they buy from someone who just doesn't know the value of their item

but i can usually find a few resellers who make decent offers on my things, and they still profit from the items

Heheh. Usually those are the people who have patience holding on to a HTS until they meet a collector, whom they can sell to at closer to full price :)

    It depends.

A lot of times I can usually dump off some crappy items to them at a decent price because they are new. They maybe read a single guide or something but don't know much and give me a lot for the hts thing.

And sometimes it's nice if I absolutely need pure even at a cheap price.

But generally they are worth nothing more than a bump on my board to raise my thread towards the top to a potential buyer.

usually those resellers are chancing upon and praying hard that those they offering the prices to are newbies or smth thinking they dont know the price.

I find them super irritating and would just ignore them. I always make me think why are they so stupid.

^ I don't think they're 'stupid'. They're either (1) inexperienced or (2) just being a reseller. I mean, when you play a game like Hannah and the Pirate Caves, you want to last as long as possible. When you play soccer, you want to score a goal. Similarly, when you are a restocker, naturally you want to earn as much as you can, wouldn't you?

I think the reason why people are pissed off at cut-throat resellers is because they are at the other end of the line. If you're going to get a low offer on your item, naturally you're going to be mad because you're expecting more. But isn't that the point of reselling, from the reseller's perspective?

So, while cut-throat resellers can be annoying, I really don't see why they are 'stupid'. It makes perfect sense to do that -_^
