You say that, but consider: It takes approximately 1500 POUNDS of pot in 15 minutes in order to kill you. Marijuana has NO long-term effects, other than the effects that it has on your lungs. Now also consider: Smoking cigarettes kills one person every three minutes. 1 in 2 people who smoke will die from it. Yet, smoking cigarettes is legal. Marijuana is not. Does this not seem like a backwards law to you? If cigarettes are legal, pot should be too.
Cigs most definitely get you high. Ask any smoker. Cigarettes relax you. And cigarettes are ADDICTIVE. Marijuana is NOT. The only time that Marijuana is harmful is if it's cut with something like acid or coke or something. If it was legalized, then large processing factories would take over, pot would be more potent, and safer. not to mention cheaper.
The only effects are short term memory loss, only after heavy usage constantly for years. Its better than alchohol, or any other tobacco in terms of side effects.
THANK YOU. I didn't even bring alcohol into my arguments. Impaired driving causes about half of the crashes on the road. Is it illegal to drink? No. Drink and drive, yes, but it doesn't stop anyone. When do you ever hear about marijuana being blamed for a car accident? Rarely at most.
Pot actually is addictive but only to certain people who have the "addiction gene". I think pot should be legalized because there's so many other legal drugs in America that are so much more dangerous like vicodin, morphine, and anti-depressants for example. Pot can be helpful like for people with complications with eating and they need to gain weight. But also I'm afraid that pot is being cultivated to be come more powerful and possible harmful.
Do you have a reference for this "addiction gene" information? I'm normally an addictive person, I become addicted to every hobby I take up, Neopets, Pokemon, Yugioh, Crazy bones xD. I've smoked pot many times, but I'm not addicted.
well im only 13 but i really dont want to smoke pot, ive seen my brother smoke it and i almost though my other brother did (he my idol) but he didnt, i would be pissed thats the thing though, some people can be very addicting and some cannot even though i dont do it, i know that its not bad to do it once but if you do it daily then thats just horrible for your body, mind and your money you can also be caught doing or possseing it
I put it in quotes because the "addiction gene" theory hasn't been proven so I'm not sure it really exists. But some Doctors like Dr. Drew Pinsky believe that addiction can be passed down through the gene pool.
Pot shouldn't be legalized because a lot of teenagers use it (There are people at school I know who do O_O). I did a project on in and there were more negatives than positives. But the positives are actully negatives fooling your body.
Actually pot is legalized in some places for cataracts and glaucoma stuff like that. But some doctors just give it out to anyone to make money. Like this one guy nicknamed "Dr. Feelgood" I don't know what his name is, got into a lot of trouble for giving pot and other drugs to people who didn't need them.
And, at a dosage like that, it's really not all that harmful. Its probably equal to 5 or so cigarettes per bunning sesh (each time you get high), considering that many people smoke 20+ cigarettes a day, it's really not that big of a deal, especially at only once or twice a month.
Someone my friend have gotten into car wrecks because of Maryjane, so i don't really like it that much for any use. I don't think it should be legal.
Yeah, when you smoke Marijuna it effects your driving, yet when you smoke that doesn't affect your driving :?
As long as you aren't doing anything that would affect anyone else while smoking it, it should be legal. I mean its your damn body and if you want to do damage it its your right to do so. Myself im not a pothead and wouldn't smoke it but if others want to and its not hurting anyone else then who's to say its wrong.
The reason pot is banned is because it can have a lot of harmful effects on your body, and it is being looked at like a 'harmless drug'. It's hard to catch people selling them but they can face the consequences of their actions.
