Should the IOC be able to ban countries from the Olympics?

Well, it all depends on the reason why they're banning the country...

 

Ok, suppose that they're some terrorist-harboring country who have consistently been attacking foreign nations.

 

As long as the Olympians aren't the ones causing the trouble or breaking the rules then I don't see it fair for them having to suffer because their country sucks.

 

I don't see why some countries should be punished by only a couple of people's actions.

 

Same vice-versa, why should some people be punished by their countries' actions.

 

u have to take in to affect here the safety of the athletes how do u think the athletes form a such banded country would be treated? i agree that if they see reason to ban them from the games then do it that's where there there to determine. dont need another assault like the one in the 72 games

If there is a great risk to other athletes than they can ban a certain country from the Olympics.

 

yes, use it as a way of negociation to make sure the games are friendly and fair
