I set out to make a signature, I had lots of ideas but I realised I never go for the stereotypical game renders. I'm going to show you step by step what I did because the finished product doesn't give credit to the actual amount of work put into it.

So i googled and found a nifty image of gordon from half life, so I cut him from the background:

That was all good and well but I needed a background, my original intention was to go for a Hellish undead background, and have him walking out of hell like a good little boy.

Couldn't find it but then remembered the amazing cover art on resistance fall of man... and went for this image...

    EWWW LOGOS!

So I had to remove them (That black box is my colour picker, when I am heavily editing an image I keep a colour picker behind it to make it quicker and easier to see my blends and switch my foreground colour) :

Until finally I produced an end result (Well 2, I decided to splash some colour and saturation into one to make it slightly more unique).

Whew... What do you think, and what could be improved?

Thanks, but it's not really about half-life 2. It's just that he looks pretty in that picture :O

Well I love it, except the bottom, where I think it's supposed to look like he's stepping out of the picture? Maybe you can fade the line between the brown part and the white part, because for me it's too distinct. ^^
