Im looking at importing a 2000 Nissan Skyline Gt-r from japan, but I've been hearing many rumors on how you can't have a car over 15 years old. An others have said how you can have w.e. skyline you want, but it just needs to pass emissions. Anybody care to elaborate on this subject??
Yes, you can own a car over 15 years. There are many old cars in the roads and I see them once in a while...
I think it is just hard to have a car that old... On gas emmisions, I bet that is true. Canada is so much better about that stuf then america.
I'm pretty sure you can't import cars into Canada over 15 years of age. I had a friend who tried and had some problems with this.
1- You can import a car from anywhere as long as the car is more than 15 years old. A skyline R34 can't be imported yet. 2- Actually, if the car you want to import is less than 15 years old, you can import it in cananda as long as the car was commercialized here. (skyline were not). Quite a pain in the ass and I don't know how to do it, but some peoples did it. They had to modify some parts thought. 3- In Quebec, we have special license plate for reseller since they are always changing cars. One people have use this trick to import a skyline R34 in quebec but it's not properly legal. Hope it help !!!
