How to be sure? I'm assuming so because when I try to turn it on, the light flickers and the fan quarts to spin before turning off a nanosecond later. If I hold the power button down it'll keep flickering and spinning but the computer still won't turn on. Help?
Thats what my sisters computer did.. I think it was her hard drive. I managed to get it to work as a secondary drive, i backed everything up for her then reinstalled windows blah blah blah. put it back in her comp as primary drive and it worked fine.. Still don't know what was wrong... but yea. I do recommend waiting and hearing other option before ripping ur computer apart though... could get messy if i just got lucky and did something random
unplug everything first (cd/dvd, harddrive, floppy, usb plugged outside the box) and try to start it. If nothing start, the psu is dead. Mine will die soon. I can't plug my 3 HD with my 2 DVD since last week. If I keep 2 HD and 1 DVD, it's ok but if I try to plug something USB draining juice (like charging an IPOD), the computer stop XD
Oh and if you are touching the inside of your computer... don't do what I did. Use static proof gloves if you have them.. I caused some issues there with my sisters computer because I was too lazy to get my gloves
