    There's an app for that!

It seems like there is an app for everything.

Personally, I think the iPhone is going way too far with what a phone can do. Sure, it's really convenient, but is it really necessary?

Is Apple trying to take over the world?

Not telling because you'll just be jealous psshh..
No it's not necessary; even a mobile phone isn't necessary. Neither is an iPod.
    I don't know.. if you want a computer - buy a computer.
If you want a camera, buy a camera.
It may be handy, but not necessary to have it all on one thing :/

I think mobile phones are useful but yes, they do way too much. My mobile phone is as basic as they come :p

Well also note there are TONS (literally) of other smart phones out there than can do pretty much everything an iPhone does... Take the Motorola Droid or the XPERIA for example. So basically... Apple isn't trying to take over the world and probably won't (no matter how much I want it to :p)

in a world where technology advanes faster than the blink of an eye, no single device can rule it all. we had our motorola razrs, and now we have our iphones, and in a couple of years we'll have something else. iphone hasnt even achieved the iconic success the razr had, and it can't do half the stuff other phones can because of apple's limitation on programs

I don't like apple. I've always been a PC :) and yes, the Iphone is very unnecessary. My phone can call people and send text... thats it.

You know I don't mind that my phone can take pics or browse the web and whatnot but when it gets to the point where a phone is a mp3 a camera, a video recorder, a gps, a phone book and a internet browser....what happens when you lose it?
You lose all of that you relied on in one little phone lol. That's why I just like to keep most of my things separate. :) So if I lose one at least I don't lose them all

Hm... What is this, an apple bashing topic? XD

While yea, its unnecessary, so was it to go to the moon, but we did it (or at least they claim they did)...

I think its just a great showmanship of what we can do with technology. Its truly amazing with what they were able to fit in the palm of your hand.

It was design by computer geeks for computer geeks, or people that love technology. If you are anti-technology, you won't like it, cause it'll just confuse you.

It was a break through in technology...

Also, just a note, the first PC came from a Mac, so... Can't hate on apple XD

I've found that the only reason people don't like things made by apple is cause they simply don't understand them well, cause they are so advanced. Thats no reason to hate.

Aw I love my MacBook Pro, iPhone, and iPod. Really though, I use my iPhone more for entertainment than an actual phone. I guess it's just neat to be able to whip it out and do whatever whenever really fast just like that. And you're right, it'd be pretty devastating to lose it, but everything on my iPhone is sync'd with iTunes so it's not like I'd really lose any of the data/apps/etc I had if that ever did happen. You'd just have to spend a lot of money for a new phone. =p

Yes, but Steve Jobs came up with the macs before Windows came out. Even though windows were released first, its pretty well know that linux was the first, macs came from linux, and windows came from mac. Windows are a cheap knock off of a computer. They always fail, giving you more erros, then you think possible. I do a lot of advanced things, if i do them on windows, you get lots of glitches and errors. If i do them on a mac, i rarely get any errors. For every 1 errors i get on macs, iget about 5-10 on windows. Why do you think macs have virtually no viruses? While new viruses for windows come out all the time? Macs are simple better made then windows. Its like buying a bmw or a ford. The ford is windows, and the mac is the bmw. The bmw lasts, does well, and never gives many problems (well... not quite true, as i know bmws do have a lot of minor issues, but major problem wise). The ford falls apart like the the piece of poo poo it is...

Yet some how, windows ended up on top as the most popular system simple cause its cheaper. People can't afford bmws, so some trash them... In reality, they are too poor to know how great they really are, and claim they are crap. Windows got ahead cause i can uild a good PC for under 200 bucks, as i did in my PC Hardware and Software class a few weeks ago. Its quite fast too. When a school can put 10 windows PCs in a class for the price of 1 mac, why would they not go with the Windows PCs? Everyone from my time grew up with windows all around them. Many have switched to macs now, and can agree macs are more powerful, and better. But when you grew up being taught how to do stuff on windows, but not mac, and you try to do stuff on a mac, you fail, you claim macs are weird, and start to dislike them... When in fact, its the windows that's weird...

I think you're blowing this way out of proportion Heya lol. I'm pretty sure TtotheJay didn't make this an "apple bashing topic" I personally don't have a problem with Apple. But as I stated earlier, I don't really want a phone that can do everything, because if I lose it, everything is gone :) and that's why I don't have one. No need to make a post about the history of Macs lol.

Haha, frankly speaking, I don't think Apple will 'take over the world'. As far as I know, when it comes to computers, most of my friends are still avid PC users, and find Apple products hard to use. As long as people remain 'inflexible' and 'lazy' (not saying that there is a real need to learn how to use Apple products, though), Apple won't 'take over the world'.

There's nothing wrong with PC's, and they are still the monopoly. Apple has to do more to win over consumers, tbh o.o

Same here, about the teacher, haha!

But I believe they tell us not to because most people are using PC's. Using a Macbook is inconvenient, because often the file types are different, and for projects, Mac-users often suffer.

In a recent project I did, a certain person X in my group offer to make the PowerPoint slides. He used Keynote, then found out that his Macbook did not have any cable points. Hence, we spent quite some time transferring the presentation to Windows x.x

I am afraid I must disagree with you Macdoodles (I find it rather ironic that the brand you "hate" happens to be in your name). Apple's computers have been given consistently positive reviews from many sites (Gizmodo, Macworld, etc...) and they are constantly coming out with new stuff. So even though I do agree that the computers are somewhat lacking in ports (I would like more than 2 USB ports =.=) I'm quite sure the computers would fail to classify as "JUNK!!!!" according to any reasonable criteria.
