Oh man... I recently got an email from my telus internet service provider. It stated that Spore Creature Creator wants me to cease and desist or they will pursue legal actions(copyright infringement)... since i am a broke university student... may ass would have been thrown in jail.. not for too long tho...

this is what i did.... I went to Piratebay.org just to search some games up because i was bored... i came across spore and since i played it before i downloaded it without haste. After about 2 hours it was completed but i forgot to stop sharing the file. I was found buy the Spore Creature Creator Company because i was sharing the file.

SOda MORAL of the story is ... do not forget to stop sharing the file once it is downloaded.. this goes with music and basically everything you download. I know i wont make that mistake again. lol... :maha:

The real moral is to just buy the game. :)

You can always use softwares like PeerGuardian to block out any unauthorised connections when torrenting. I use that and haven't gotten into any trouble yet. Only downside is there's no release for vista yet.

RIAA has decided to no longer pursue legal action against individuals for illegal music downloads...just fyi

So, you won't directly get sued...instead I think they intend to work with your ISP. If they detect illegal sharing, your ISP will warn you and then cut service...I'm not sure if additional legal action will be taken

Hmm that's pretty fast..you didn't share for too long?
Cuz I mean after all Spore is the #1 pirated game out there so far. I saw it in Attack of the Show o_o
I downloaded like 6 versions of the Sims (Lots of expansion packs) and yeah for torrents, I slow my upload speed WAY down because it doesn't completely stop the sharing for me. But it works cuz usually when it finishes, I am at the computer so I stop the process when the bubble pops up saying the task is done :)

Must..I am never worried about being caught. I don't like to use torrents unless it's huge files like programs and games. I usually direct download all my music.

    NO BUYING :( TOO POOR.

I also never use torrents...but I never dl anything bigger than music or movies...so I guess using RS and such isn't too much of an inconvenience :p
