in the film twilight, from stephanie meyers ( i think i slept her name wrong ) in the base ball scene they say the only play base ball when theres a storm coming, but i never understod why does any one else know why the only play with a storm coming
-_- I actually read the books, and it is mentioned in there that they can only play when a storm is coming because they make too much noise. Super strong vampires+baseball=loud, thunder-like crashes. and, I don't remember if it was like this in the movie, but when they collide (trying to run to a base/trying to get them out) they make lots of noise as well.
I haven't read the books, but from what I understood, it was because of the sound. I watched the movie, and everytime they hit the ball it sounded like a crack of thunder. If they did this during a sunny day, people would be like wtf.
Sounds like an atmospheric thing. Storm = Tension = What they want to achieve in the movie? Part of film techniques, I guess. Though it's dangerous. Lightning! xD
Lol, I thought it was because of the sunlight? I only watched the movie, and I'm NOT a fan, so it wouldn't surprise me if I was wrong, it's just what I remember from the movie.
i thourt it might have been because of the noise, but then i had some other theorys as well, ifs theres a storm people are less likely to leave th house and random things like that, but that was the only book i didnt read lol
It's because they hit the ball with enough force to make it sound like thunder, and if there wasnt a storm people would think it was weird.
It's because of the sound. :/ I never really got that though. I can't imagine it sounding like thunder tbh... in my opinion it's just a fail on Stephenie Meyer's part D: Please do not gravedig
I'm pretty sure it's because of the sound the ball makes when they hit it with the bat. And probably the sounds they make when they hit the ground/run into each other at great speeds. xD
