My english teacher always gave us these tips for reading:
Don't get to comfortable - stay slighty chilly. Thatway you don't fall asleep.
Munch on something while you read. Cereal is good. :yup:

Don't just read, write down important things. Or everything.

    Helps you memorize :)

Some people believe, for some ungodly reason, that after reading a book, if you sleep with it under you're pillow it'll help you memorize what you read...I've read that in a few different places never tried though :p

    don't read, memorize.

Study before going to sleep and then refresh when you wake up.

Oh, and not so much a study technique, but bring lucky trinkets into your exams - ie. bone necklaces, bangles, anklets, etc, etc, etc.

What your studying is relevant, but almost regardless of what it is do problems/ essays/questions (ideally past exams) and get them marked somehow (even if you have to self mark, which is hard for stuff like essays) then do them again, and again, and again. Seriously doing the problems is key imo

If you have past exams, they're an excellent source of revision. Similarly with tutorials.

After EVERY page you read in a textbook take like 15-20 sec to quickly scan over the page and repeat out loud the general gist of it, and the three or four most important points.

And always alter these reading with some text in the Bible and add a Voodoo chant too. Then you go spinning around like a lunatic and shout out loud "I'M A NERD" while making your mouth as big as you can and don't forget to make a pic of yourself and post it here. :p

    That is all.

oh if anything needs memorizing, relate those things to something you can remember or make acronyms
