I'm trying to record streaming sound, so for that I read that I needed to enable and set "Stereo Mix" to default. It's weird though, because it doesn't work. Like I play some music, but the bars beside the Stereo Mix device stay the same. It's a new sound card, so drivers are nice and updated, etc. Mic works fine, speakers work fine, it's just this.
It is much easier to take a wire male-male one end connect to mic port and second insert to the speaker port... And thats it record sound..
I have a cord like that, but how would it record sound? Seems to me like you're just plugging a speaker into a mic port. Mostly Firefox.
Why don't you try BitRecorder? It saves in .flv though, so you will need VLC to play it or convert it to mp3 before you can use it on mp3 players and such.
I'm not actually trying to get sound off Youtube or anything, specifically off www.soundboard.com to grab some cool sound clips since they don't offer downloads.
Go to the site in IE then tools internet option options, Then view filesselect all delete (just so its easyer to find the files you want) then play anything you want to and it will pop into the view files folder (IE cache) simples
Open/download SoundForge and just press record.. Don't forget to set up from where are you recording mic or line in..
Lol I have yet to find a working method still. It doesn't have to do with downloading applications, since the applications use the sound settings to record, but since my sound settings are fu**ed up, they can't record.
