And I'm wanting a new laptop. Problem is, I don't know which to get. I've had pleasing experiences with laptops so far, but they've always just been supplied to me. Now I'm buying one myself, and I don't know which brand to pick or which computer to grab. I'm not wanting to spend all of my little mound of money, I'm just letting you know how much is available to me. I game, but I'm not looking to play next year's games on highest quality while playing music and browsing inappropriate material all at the same time. Just looking for the standards; an attractive laptop, wireless built in, and a good processor speed. I don't care about battery life, I am literally always plugged in. It's either plugged in in the house, or in a car adapter. Doesn't matter. Your thoughts?
If your focus is gaming, you can find great desktops for half the price. Laptops are made for portability, which makes them more expensive.
If you really want a gaming laptop then maybe you want this: http://www.alienware.com/products/area- ... 004&disc=1 Otherwise since you say your going to keep it plugged up all the time I don't see the point in you having a laptop. I doubt you will use it much in your car so you should get a desktop.
Alienware is high-speed, I'm just looking for something that handles games without me having to drop everything down to low. I don't need to have all my stuff maxed out and running at super speed. Thing is, I'm wanting a laptop to replace the one I have right now. I bring my laptop everywhere, both for work and pleasure. Can't do that with a desktop.
I would definitely suggest going to Best-Buy and looking at what they have there. My friend got a laptop there for around $1,000. It is a great laptop and is seriously making me jealous. I keep telling myself that as soon as I get the cash, I need to upgrade my desktop to be at least on par with his laptop.
What about building one? There are some websites that will allow you to select the various components so some research on Google will tell you the type of feedback you will get from a GFX card, processor etc. Though to be honest for a laptop, I'm not sure if this is really an avaiable option but it will be much more tailored for your needs.
I would say probably the worst one to get is Alienware, its just expensive eye-candy as any computer savvy person should know. I suggest a nice average HP, or go to dell.com, and talk to Live Support about customizing a laptop and tell them your price what you want etc and they will go though each part and help you pick the best thing to fit your needs, they are amazing!
