I've always wondered what would happen if humans were able to use 100% of their brains. We only use 10%, meaning we still need to 'unlock' 90% more usage. I honestly think, that if we used even 50% of our brains, we could do extraordinary things.. like supernatural things, to an EXTENT.. what do you think?

I just think we would be more advanced and more efficent. Not super powers...

I didn't mean 'super powers' per-say, I mean like, being able to see further, see through mist and stuff easier. But, using 100% of our brains will not happen, I doubt this will ever happen, we'll end up killing ourself before we find out how.

Lol, poor PS3, they made it too complicated.. I was a huge Sony fanboy, but PS3 is too """"extreme""" for me

Anyway, yeah, I think if we used more brain usage, we'd be able to find cures and remedies for many ailments on the planet, that we cannot find today, as well.

I think that would be really cool. We might not need 13 years of school; mabey only 2 or 3.

I dunno about this, but maybe only 10% of our brain is for thinking, problem solving etc. I think the other 90% would be for muscle movement and all those sorts of things.

We could be almost superhuman in the speed of our thoughts and our analytical abilities, it's pretty weird to think about how different life would be.

Do you think we'll ever 'unlock' how to use any more of our brain?

I do think that we could do 'things' faster and better if we use more than just 10 percent, but using 100% would probably kill us.

I also agree with Jaggerrr, isn't just the 10% capable of 'thinking' etc..
And the other 90% for speach, movement and such?

lol I want to see the citation for this 10% usage. Different sections of the brain are responsible for different functions (speech, breathing, thinking). And what exactly constitutes as 10%? Is it 10% of the physical brain, or 10% of the potential for neuron transmission? It just doenst seem measurable. I feel the human brain is more efficient than 10%, but if its not, then wow the possibilities are insane (telekinesis).

Do you think we'd feel different if we used more of our brain? Like see everything in a new perspective? Maybe the way we see things now is only what our 10% brain usage is allowing us to see, and maybe if we used more of our brain we would see things in a different way?

    :S

Yes with all the research they are doing on embryos at the moment, such as screening for illness, prepensity to develop diseases maybe it will develop futhur to improving brain usage. Maybe scientists can create an embryo with improved brain power.

Have you seen the show Heros? where people have all sorts of special powers, maybe it would be like that but on a lesser scale!

By see you mean perceive I presume? I wouldn't think so, becuase we'd first have to learn how to perceive that way, kinda like how the earth was flat 1000 years ago and we couldn't even write 10,000 years ago. Also, the thing about using more calories totally makes sense, I never even thought about it. We'd need so much more energy to supply our "100%" effiecient brains.
