I hate Passport (kentucky medicaid), they refuse to let the pharmacy give me my blood pressure medicines without a doctor giving prior authorization. I have not seen a doctor in Kentucky because the earliest they can see me is on the 17th of this month. I explained how I have run out of my blood pressure medicine and have refills that are not being refilled. They tell me that they will not authorize anything until they see me. They also say I can not go in for an emergency appointment or any thing to get an authorization. I went to the emergency room. sat there six hours for them to tell me they cant and will not authorize any blood pressure medicine for me. the only blood pressure medicine they can offer me is the one that put me in the hospital because it dropped my heart rate to 31 beats a minute. Today I take my blood pressure. It is 158/101 and my pulse rate was 105 .. this was a reading taken while i was in a very relaxed mindset and had not been physically doing anything other than casually walking and not much of that either. ... I told the pharmacy that and they said that there is nothing they can do and that i need to convince my new doctor to make an emergency appointment for me. That said, I am out of pain killers as well. Those are understandable i can not get them until i see a doctor. they are strong narcotics. My disability lawyer sent me a letter which i received yesterday saying she is being forced to drop my case and i have to find a lawyer up here and wait on them to transfer it. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I hate the government in Kentucky!!!
That sucks... I guess they have rules though to stop those that would abuse the system eh? Probably not the right time to pick on you, but if you knew you were getting low, why wouldn't you book earlier? You have to stay on top of those things to help yourself....
we moved from Louisiana to Kentucky. I have refills, just the medicaid red tape ladydog donkey dung is taking way longer than it really should. I have been trying to get this working for 2 months. Even though medicaid is federal ever state has its own guidelines that make it like it is a completely different system in each state.
Wow man, that totally sucks. I wish you the best of luck with your case and also hope you'll get your refills as soon as possible.
