($710 for you americans) Good buy? only thing worrying me is the new graphis card, but can upgrade that when I get a bit more money for 50-60pound.
should wait a bit and get windows 7 over vista...or just get the rc now and buy it later p.s. i didnt bother read half of that.
Free upgrade to windows 7 available if I keep my reference codes now, soon as its released i can get it for free =) Anyone know what price Im looking at for a top of the range graphics card to play new games, or any links to any would be a great help =) *points to rep button*
depends on what games but if you want the best, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814150349 Spoiler tbh, i dont know anything about video cards. i just searched for the most expensive thing to piss you off hahahaha Here's a list with some nerd reviews http://pcwizkidstechtalk.com/index.php/ ... ideo-cards
The only things that bug me are: "4096MB Dual Channel DDR2 800MHz [2x2048] Memory" - would prefer 1066 MHz or better "Integrated ATI Radeon HD3200 Graphics" - that's enough for general purpose stuff, but if you're going into gaming, you'll need better "Dell 2 Button USB Scroll Optical Mouse - Black" - again, if you're gaming, you'll want a 5 button mouse "No Modem" - <3 modems, jk, you don't need one I'm liking the fact that it comes with a monitor. There are plenty of memory options out there so just take a look around. Same goes for the mouse, just find one that you like. I can't really say much about good graphics cards though. You'll want to look into the $150-200 price range though. I'd say that would be the mid-range for gaming graphics cards.
What difference does 800mhz to 1066 make a difference? ive got my razer mouse here that I use with my laptop That mouse is just free so i wont turn it down xD Hmm i will see how games run with the graphics card, any problems and once I get my student loan I'll throw £100 into a new card =) Say its a decent PC for the price though? I certainly couldn't find better (without messing around building myself)
1066 is faster Plus there's some technical stuff about clock cycle peaks that I don't really 100% understand. You can probably ignore that though. 800 MHz is fine. But yeah, that's a pretty good price especially since it comes with a monitor.
Bad deal, sorry. The PC i built for under 600 (look for the thread entitled "My new rig" or something) CAD, which is like.. 500 USD. You're better off building it yourself. The model you quoted is IDENTICAL to one that my mom bought a little while ago, except hers is an HP and only has 3 gigs of ram. You'll be using the same processor. I configured this on newegg. If you really try, you should be able to get a couple hundo (i'm serious) knocked off, if you look around for deals on components. This config is all hypothetically, I'm not telling you to go out and buy it. https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/MySa ... D=14224368 That build uses intel. The 8400 CPU is easily OCed up to 4GHz. Let me know if you want me to make you a hypothetical AMD build, I'm much better with AMD. Hypothetically, you can make that build for under 500, and then pay 200 for a LEGIT 24 inch monitor. Don't worry about 1066MHz ram instead of 800MHz ram, the difference is negligible. If anything, upgrade your processor, the 5400 is decent, but not fantastic. Throw some Ds down on a little better one. Same with a hard drive. I recommend Caviar Black 1tb. They go as low as about 75 USD (the one quoted on newegg is 100). I got mine for 95 CAD. It's a FANTASTIC drive with a 5 year warranty. And in the build, I used Antec Sonata III case, simply because it's been known to slip as low as 60 dollars, which is RIDICULOUS since it comes with an amazing PSU, and it's a nice case itself. Do you not have any parts from any old computers you can salvage? Such as a DVD drive or a case?
