Glad to see you updating that blog! How long does it take to make these pieces?

Just curious, what material is the dress made out of? Very impressive, especially the "reflective machine"

    Thanks Charlie! =)

Commy-> The croquis are five and ten minute sessions I belive. The dress took about a year from planning to completion, but the actual puttig it together didn't take more than two or three days. The self portrait was made in an hour or two.
Since work samples are due February, I'll be adding a ton of new projects in a short while. =)

Sparratic-> The dress is made mainly from coffee filters.
Thanks, I'm especially satisfied with the reflective machine, unfortunately I don't have any images of the completed product yet. The shell is done, but I still need to find a really bad AM-radio to hook it up to. :)

Nice update. How did you go about making the chains?

The chains are storebought and some I had since along time ago. They were put together to a pattern in a sort of dispersed web. The rings were modelled in wax and cast in brass. Chains is meant to be a multifunctional but non-practical piece of jewelery, serving as rings, a necklace or even earrings, though wearing it would limit the users moving of their body parts in order to maintain the esthethics of the piece.

The theme of the assignment was "belonging/relation" and the rings (inspired by wedding rings) belong to each other and are connected through the chains, as well as it being a reflection of my own relation to jewelery; that while I enjoy the estethics of them, I cannot wear them due to a feeling of being trapped/locked.

Sorry if it sounded pretentious, it's basically what I wrote in short in my portfolio about it. :p
