sooo i had a test in calc BC today. Which is my best class: i was asking my friend (he'd already taken the test) if there were any inverse hyperbolic trigs or normal trigs on the test cuz i hadnt bothered to memorize them... So he says, yea, an easy one: integral sinx/radical(1+cos^2x)... I was like, thanks man, i looked it up and the answer is sinh-1cosx +C... nice.. so i get the test and wen i see that problem, im just like BAM sinh-1cosx +C and i move on w/o thinking, well my friend is delusional(not actually) and ther actually was NO radical so the problem was FAAAAAAAAAAR simpler: sinx/1+cos^2x which is simply tan-1(cosx) (i even knew that easy peasy identity w/o studying them).. well, pretty much im an idiot. On a brighter note, I correctly answered the hardest problem on the test: integral (x^2-3 / x^2+3)dx this took me a whole side of the page, let me know if u get the answer!
x-2*sqrt(3)*arctan[sqrt(3)*x/3] + C ? haha no clue if that's actually correct...you just divide out the fraction and integrate right? it's been forever since I've done any real integration problems
lol wut, that's a relatively simple problem then again, math classes in high school aren't really anything hard if you know all the formulae and techniques.
lol but I'm pretty sure I'm included in that category the only one I could ever remember was arctan the other ones with the square roots and stuff were just like....pssh whatever
Well it turns out I got an 88 on the test, w/e. And to zer0s comment: That is definitely not a simple problem, you have to know to divide and trig sub. Everyone in that class gets a 5 on the AP, even kids who get Cs in the class. To give u a bit of a taste, Ill scan one of our tests. Lets see how you do. This could actually be interesting... Wen I get home Ill scan in one of our tests.
Alright, alright every1 who thinks bc is easy, of course, bc exam is a joke, but the class (at least at my school) certainly isnt. Hold the comments until I can scan my tests.
Alright ive got it! Try it urself, I was able to answer 1-8 and 10, but couldnt figure out 9 in time.
durp durp, u wudent be on the internet, driving or riding in a car, or in a house right now if it werent for advanced mathematics, applicative trigonometry and calculus and geometry.
