    Hi!

Is anyone here using water to cool your pc?
I'm using watercooling for 4 years now and it's really great.
The high prices stopped me to buy one but then I got one really cheap from a colleague and that was the beginning. It's really silent and cools great. What are your experiences/questions?

Does it affect the performance of the PC?
Could I build one into my older comp?
    Where can I buy one?
How much would it cost (roughly) for a gaming PC that is water cooled?
Is the noise it generates signifigantly less than the traditional fan cooled comp?
Will my comp last longer using water cooling?

    Wrong.... very wrong...
If that was the case, car would be cooled with air and not with rad/prestone.
Ok, Porsche used air cooling until the '90, but they understood that if you want more POWWWAAAAA, you need better cooling. Surely, at idle, you won't see a major difference between the 2, but to a stress test on your CPU running your fan and running a watercooling kit and you'll be amazed. And if you want to OC, it's a must.

I agree that water cooling is awesome, although sometimes it isn't cost-effective.

it wasn't meant to be cost effective...
something, you don't have the choice and that's why is cost so much.

The built in fan for the apple Macbook is very powerful- probably because there are no water cooling techniques aloud to modify your computer. :'(

"Does it affect the performance of the PC?"
Water cooling prob isn't worth it unless your overclocking your system.

"Could I build one into my older comp?"
If you knew what you was doing, if you don't get a professional to do it for you. You don't want to short circuit your motherboard.

    "Where can I buy one?"
Any good computer hardware shop, don't know about any stores in America sorry.

"How much would it cost (roughly) for a gaming PC that is water cooled?"
Probably best to research this one, prices of parts change everyday.

"Is the noise it generates signifigantly less than the traditional fan cooled comp?"
Depends on the quality of your fans, but in almost all cases yes water cooling noise is much less.

"Will my comp last longer using water cooling?"
If u keep your comp at the right temp it wont matter what you use as long as it does not over heat it will keep running unless it runs into other problems.

I agree, water-cooling is only worth it, and probably only noticeable if you overclock.

Anyways, I doubt most of us here really even need to overclock/use watercoolers.
