I have a really old account that I got from a friend but I don't know the birthday and it asks for it when I try to log it - I know the password but not the birthday.

And I can't request the PW for my email or anything since I don't know what the email was (got from friend).

Is there any way I could get around this or something?!

Hmm, I'm not actually sure why it's even asking you for a birthday, it never asks me. Also, why not just ask your friend his birthday..? Other than that, those are the only suggestions I would have. Currently I'm using IE6 without being prompted for a Birthday entry, it may be possible your browser requires this information.

Also, it's possible the account hasn't been accessed for a set period of time, and has taken up extra security issues, or, it's a personal security setting put on the account by the original user..? (It's understandable that they wouldn't deliver your birthday as part of a password reminder, 99.9% of everyone would remember that heh)

Btw, I'm not sure if it's wise to ask TNT as it would seem suspicious even though it has legit purposes. I hope someone else is capable of providing a possibly more thorough answer for you, but I'm not sure how likely the chances are.

If you haven't logged into an account for 6 months (I think it's 6 months), then you will be asked to confirm your birthday along with your password, regardless of the browser you are using.

The only real way is to try a few different birthdays everday, systematically going through the whole year, or add yourself as a neofriend on another account and look each day to see when the age increases on the account in question.

Either way, it's a long process.. Good luck :)

They've changed it where neofriends that haven't accepted don't show ages.

    Guess they clocked on.

If you know enough about the account, you can neomail TNT. If they are in a good mood, they can tell you the birthday.
Unforunately, that rarely happens, so you just have to keep guessing =(

There's really no easy to get the account back :|

Yea, I cant believe TNT would stoop that low, they truly are evil. Its more difficult to access a neopets acct than a paypal! I dont understand why they have this whole birthday deal... Is it some evil way of punishing people who lie about their birthday.... I know of legit users dying to get ther old accounts back who simply cant because of this birthday garbage.. Its pointless and just plain not fair!!!

i think it's lesser tha 6 months, cause if that's true, many can create accounts to age, and then log in when it's 4 months and older.

Yes they did. I see all the ages of people that haven't accepted me as ???. Are you sure it wasn't already requested or that you accepted?

That happened to me before too. I just e-mailed them and explained that when I signed up I used a fake birthday to protect my own identity. I gave them other information regarding the account, stuff only the account owner would know, and they unlocked it for me.

I have a friend who had a 6 year account she didn't access for a very long time. She couldn't remember the false birthday she put for it, but she had an old Neofriend who she had accepted. So one day she noticed her age increased, giving her the birth date she put. Sadly though, the account had been inactive for too long and Neopets deleted it...
I say whenever you sign up for an account you write down all the details you put in Notepad. ^^

true, but i don't think anyone who first created their neopets account would take into consideration that they might leave it too long, and end up birthday locked :S the only way to get pass this birthday lock, is to guess. :S

exactly 3 months after the day you've created the account, the lock kicks in?
