Your question kind of confused me. Do you mean do I know prices for website hosting? I'm going to assume that's what you're asking. Okay so some sites offer free hosting: webs.com, bravenet, 110mb, awardspace... the list goes on and on. I have used each of these sites to host a website for free. In my experience, awardspace was the best. It allowed me to use a ftp client on a free plan, had .php pages (useful for me because i was running cutenews), and easy for me to install my domain. All of the other ones are for beginners. Though I have used all of them, I am least familiar with 110mb. This is the one I wouldn't recommend. Just because it had the worst convenient subdomain I have ever experienced. Try it if you want. My sites didn't host too many files, so a free hosting account was reasonable for me and my needs. But you (as you indicated in the question) are looking for paid hosting prices... I hear Lunar Pages is a good host. I feel the largest issue you should have when looking for hosting is deciding who to choose. Make sure they have good support. Paid Hosting goes into an entire new category. All of these sites offer paid hosting and then there are sites that offer domains and stuff. I know some hosting sites pick you based on what type of site you want to create. Usually these are private hosts and only offer to people with graphic skill. Sometimes you are required to submit a portfolio as I had to once. Once you get in, you get everything you would need to start up a site and a subdomain. You have to pay for the subdomain yourself. Sometimes the hosting costs too. Like I said before, it all depends on how much space you will need for the site. Factor in how much traffic you project to have and how much space on the server you will need and how much you will use. The last thing you want is a slow site. Some hosts have yearly payment plans and monthly ones. Usually you can save if you go with yearly. The most you should have to pay is 48 dollars a year as a small business with unlimited space, email accounts, traffic, etc. The lowest you will probably find that is nearly all inclusive is 12 dollars a year. Domains are good to have. No use in spending money to spiffy up your site when you have a name on a generic subdomain. Domains usually run at yearly prices and you shouldn't pay more than 8 dollars a year for a top level domain (.com, .net, .org) I hope I could have been of assistance.
Hostgator is good. Actually they are the best in terms of customer service. Way better than Godaddy. I have both Godaddy and Hostgator hosting plans so take it from somebody who has been there done that. Please don't grave dig.
