Today I was thinking of the candy I put in my bag (Sour Patch Kids) and it got me craving some Shocktarts, which reminded me of an odd fad that was in our elementary school when I was in Gr. 6. There were these extremely sour candies called Warheads that my classmates would bring to school. There were a lot of different flavours in increasing intesity, with black being the most sour if I remember correctly. Anyway, apart from trading the candy, it was kind of like a bragging rights. Kids would compete to see what colours they could eat, and who could suck the most at one time. lololo that last part sounded dirrrty

Then in Gr. 8 some of the girls in my class started wearing binkies around their necks. Actually, I still see some 'scene' people wear this...I find it pretty odd myself. ;o

Also in Gr. 9 people would get together and decide what days they would do this on. They would take an extra pair of underwear and wear them on the outside of their pants. (Thank god they were all a new pair they never wore before :| )

What are some weird fads that you've seen? Some that you partook in? Some you would never do?

In high school, people wore those plastic wristbands stuff, which was started by Lance Armstrong.

Now almost every org has one...

When I was in sixth grade people would bring cough drops and chicken cubes (the ones you make stock and stuff with) and suck on those all day as if they were candy.

In 5th grade, every guy was obsessed with Pink and Black. Kind of...odd. I sadly fell into that fad.
    Can't say I've recovered.

I think the warheads fad is pretty common. It happened in my elementary school as well.

Runescape was pretty popular for a while at my school.
I pwned it. Until I got scammed. But I actually knew the person that scammed me. However he was bigger than me so I did nothing :(

Last year, Rubix Cubes. I never could solve one

Second grade, Cops and Robbers, we played intensely, my friend broke some kids arm then he moved to sweden XD

Also, high socks, valley girl accents, and hair dye. Only the first of which I fell for. Under jeans, of course. And I still wear them now when its cold out XD

a group of my friends and i agreed to dress like nerds for a whole day in school, it turns out we got lots of publicity and laughs from the students around. One time one of my teachers said i needed to dress more appropriate because the students in class were laughing too hard disrupting the class. Walking in hallways were always nice because we got a lot of attention from our schoolmates.

I think its a combo of both.
I started this thing in grade 7 about wearing mens ties all the time.
    Then everyone copied me. :(
