Heaven? Hell? Re carnation? Who knows? I hope for somewhere better, guess itd be like a heaven? But that goes back to the whole "God" thing and all that mumble jumble ... >.< Who knows TOTG One thing I AM certain about is a glass of whiskey sounds delicious
If they are so bad, then why waste your time commenting? I know I'll catch crap from people like Mr "SoC" up there, but I am a Christian (no, I do not push my beliefs on anyone, everyone is free to make their own decisions) and knowthat I will be going to Heaven, thank you Jesus! If you don't fully understand who Jesus is and what he did for us, I encourage you to find out. Don't let people push you either, the choice is always yours, but I feel like as a Christian, it is our responsibility to let those know about Jesus and God that do not know, so they CAN make the decision. I know it's also difficult because there is so much political and social clout out there too that can cause you to get misleading information. any way... that' my 2 cents... now bring on the badgering!! -------------- Wow, i didn't realize until after I posted, how symmetrical my first and last lines were, TOTALLY unintentional!!
I myself, am an agnostic. I believe that we, as human beings, can not know if God exists. So I've decided not to take a standing point on this. I'll just live my life, seeing what happens. Of course, I hope something good happens to us, instead of us just rotting .. :s but I do think it's possible that we just die.. and nothing happens. It's a sad thought tho
What do you feel? I myself have been rather confused lately, which hasn't been all that helped by the historic viewpoint on religions we've been studying in AP World, but on the other hand that has cleared some things up for a general consensus. Humans have souls, which are immortal/continue to exist after death. I don't know what happens after death, but our souls will still exist. And for me, what I fear about what happens after death is separation from those I care about, so for me, I know that since I'll still be with those people, I don't need to be afraid. What happens after death is something we'll find out when we get there; for now content yourself with knowing that you'll exist, so just take it as it comes. Edit: :O I have been Level 4-ified!
lolwut? areyou thinking about vicious circle? he says to a guy that picks on him because of his religion: oh yeah? nothing happens to you when you die!!! he IS religious though
Hmmm I don't really know what will happen when you die other then you're now living anymore. Religious answers are as much correct as they are incorrect since they can't be proven or disproven (see gravity for details) and so it isn't really right to say that any given one it the true answer. Personally, I don't think you should really bother with wondering what lays in the beyond when life is over. Like thinking of infinity or trying to prove the existance of some transcendic thing it is all just a waste of time. I can't be done so why do it? So I say enjoy the whiskey and whatever else makes you happy while you can <3
One weird, and rather interesting, theory is that when you die your last moment feels like quite literally an eternity, so you do die and leave life to whatever, but you don't realise because time is all but stood still and your mind lets you do what you want in this paradise it created for itself that would do for me 'cos I wouldn't know I'm dead but I'd be going on for eternity in my mind even though it's a second or whatever... interesting theory eh?
The philosophical discussion of the afterlife is now irrelevant, as this thread is now about whisk(e)y. Did you know that "Whiskey" is correctly spelled without the "E" when it's from Scotland (I.E. Scotch)? Interesting, little known fact! Many people claim they are drinking whiskey when they are, in fact, drinking whisky. It is only correct to use the spelling "whiskey" when drinking bourbon or Irish whiskey. This is far more interesting than any debate on life after death and if you disagree, you are wrong.
People gather to celebrate your life, then your body decomposes. I thought that was quite a simple question. :lol:
for the record whiskey is amazing. second. who cares? it's going to happen anyway. When i was 8 i had a heart attack and was flatlined twice, i was afraid of death after being legally dead. for 8 years i struggled with the experience then came to the conclusion that dying doesn't matter, it's life that matters. Personally i want to go with the belief of the movie defending your life. i want rip torn to be my lawyer too.
Well I have a friend who believes in reincarnation, so we sometimes joke around about what we'll come out as in our next lives. But I don't believe in it. :/ Hopefully we'll go to heaven but I'm not hoping for anything great. ^^;;
