Because all the happiness I've been able to find from the past few years has been food. I love food <3 but its bad for me, and I really need to eat a lot less.

The last time I was really happy was when I was working at scout camp. I was overworked, underpaid and rather tired, but it was the best 6 weeks of my life. Mom scoweled at me when I expressed an interest in going back, because its 6 weeks of the summer before I go off to college and she wants me all to herself :( and I don't even know if id be hired back at camp, I didn't last year and its prolly late to apply this year....

But I just want to be happy again! I want to eat meals at a table, fit in, have friends and be a part of something that matters.... I want to be a part of that family again! I want to go to bed thinking about my great day and look forward to waking up in the morning...

    I dunno what to do.

You should take up a sport. I find the only time where I don't have a care in the world is when I'm playing volleyball, or just a sport in general. And, it's good for you, you just have to find one that you like.

And if you do get actively involved in a sport, it will help your "I like food lots and eat too much" thing. And when you have a sport, you won't need to eat less, just, eat smarter. Do some research to eat a lot and not kill yourself XD

Lol, thanks for the suggestion :) but I epically fail at sports. All of them. I'm lucky when I don't injure myself.

I'm also a very picky eater. I won't eat anything green, it's a mental block or something. I don't like the texture of fruit either, it all feels slimey...
    So that's all hopeless.

I think you could get over your fear and eat veggies. They're great for you and are basically zero calories. Just try. And you could practice at a sport, or take a dance class or something. I'm biased and completely suggest dancing, but anything that'll get you active and interacting with other people is great. There's always an excuse to not do something. You just have to get over that and try new things.

What the other people here have said, but I suggestyou take up running instead of a sport. That way you can do it whenever it suits you, you can't really fail at it and when you're done you'll get the great feeling of a hard workout. =)

    Eeeeew... Running is icky :p

Anmd id you run on the street, the amount of carbonoxide you breath in the long run gives you the lungs of a smoker... Someone I know (My boss) runs every day to and from work, and does marathons every now and then. His doctor says his lungs are the same as a person who smoked heavily for 30 years :p

I need to do more running... and weights! But I'm cancelling my gym membership to help pay for my new car :D

That's why you go running in the nature. It's also much more pleasant since you're most likely alone and get to clear your thoughts. =)

GET ACTIVE! You don't have to do sports, or intense running, at least not initially. Just throw a frisbee around with some friends or even your mom, go for a long walk/jog, go bike riding. It's just fun to do stuff :)

I agree, being in Nature always helps me to find my happy place :) Or get a pet! Do you already have a pet?? Having them there always helps, and they can be your reason to get out and take a walk/jog.

    Yes Loco is spot on!!

Get a little puppy.. Treat it like a child. It will be the best thing EVER!

Goood thing about a puppy is, they're active so you will be more active. If you take it for walks it gives you an excuse to get out and be active... And you meet lots of cool people while walking your dog :p

ILU all, but you're all wrong... except Loco, she's a little bit right... and I suppose that would make Junior correct as well, for agreeing with her. I really miss being outside, but fortunately I ordered a whole bunch of books so I'll have some stuff to read if I don't finish it all on my class trip.

I can't run, my ankles are too weak. I'm in gym class right now, and I run 3 laps and I can't hardly walk my ankles are so bad... IDK what to do about it.

I can't get a puppy, mom doesn't want the dog we have (and he's about 13-ish and acts like a puppy), my cats are all outside and can't seem to stop shedding, dripping or eating my hair... other than that, I love my fish <3 as long as they don't die (and I can't seem to get dad to help me clean the tank, it's a 2-person job and mom didn't want a fishtank in the first place).
I would love a puppy though <3 a medium sized dog, like some kind of spaniel. But I'm running away to college, so I can't take a pup with me (and mom sure doesn't want a puppy). I /could/ take my dog for a walk, but I could walk a few miles and not see anyone... no joke. I used to walk my dog to the cemetery a few miles away, but I got bored of that.

There is a wonderful place to walk though, as long as there aren't too many bugs. The school was at a park for an afternoon, and me and a few friends took a walk through the woods... and "got lost"... well, we weren't lost, we kept moving forward and eventually figured out where we were. We ended up in town... it was only a 15 minute walk back to the park. lol. We weren't even missed.

The only two physical activities I like are Badminton and Swimming. I'd swim more if I didn't have to drive 30 minutes to the nearest pool, and it's waay to windy where I live to play Badminton. And I'm really bad at both/all sports... well, I'm not a bad swimmer as far as the not drowning part goes, I just don't have any form, style or speed. lol.

and, Ang, I can't get over the veggies thing. There was a piece of lettuce on my french fry at school, and I nearly vomited. I couldn't even bring myself to eat the rest of the fries. It's really bad, I dunno what to do to fix it... it's not a fear, just intense aversion.

    gawsh, I talk too much..

You can play badminton indoors you know. Just go look for it. You have to be proactive or else you won't get anywhere. And if you drive 30 minutes for a swim, do it. Do something.

And Virre, running is a sport. lol

I totally agree with Junior! A puppy will not only be your best friend but it will be a great motivator to go out and do stuff! My dog is like my daughter, I swear we spend more money on her then we do on ourselves :) but she is the light of our lives right now and she makes life so exciting!

How did your ankles become weak? When I rolled my ankle on a hike, I had to go see a physio. There are several ankle strengthening exercises, I'll just tell you a few basic ones:

    1. Balancing on one foot - After awhile you'll feel the muscles around the ankle start to hurt. That's a good thing.
    2. Going on tippy toe with one foot, and lowering yourself slowly. For that you can balance yourself by placing a hand on the wall. Repeat several times (I do a set of 10, repeat 6 times). If that's too painful, start off with tippy toe with both feet.

Also, make sure you wear running shoes when running. My knees and ankles got screwed up from jogging only a few times in regular converse shoes. Running shoes aren't that expensive and it will save you alot of pain. They're also great for power-/fast walks.

I also extremely suggest running. I sometimes run and I'm so surprised of my own body. I love the feeling when you run for a long, long run. Maybe you should try out in the small. Because if you run for a long run, and it hurts you, you don't want to go out again. What I do when I start running I usually start with 3kms, like 4 or 5 times a week (maybe less if you don't feel like it that much) and then gradually I put more lenght on my run. Right now I can run 7kms in 35 mins and it doesn't hurt me at all - it feels nice. And when I started out I had a lot of failures where I just wanted to give it all up. But now I had to push myself because I'm going to join the army - and if you want to feel happy you need to push yourself to get your body working.
Also, when you work out it takes your mind off food and you won't feel so hungry.
And I also suggest running in nature, not on loooong boring roads, just in a wood or park or something :)

Yeah, I'll try that. Tomorrow is "running day" again in gym, I think I'm gonna die D: Luckily, the gym teacher is pretty cool, so it isn't going to be that bad. :)

If your ankles are at the stage where they hurt after three laps, if you are exercising in your spare time it would be better off to start off walking at a brisk pace.

Try that for a while, and see how it goes. Jogging can be hard on the joints, especially if you're just starting off. You can pick it up though, once you feel your body is ready.

If running is too difficult on the joints, then try biking and/or swimming. Both of those are pretty low impact and yet great ways to exercise.
