Training school. Keep your pet under level 20 and all the stats even untill you have maxed it out. Then keep the level under 40 untill you have maxed it out. Etc. Throw in a few K-Quests but don't do any that cost more then 5,000ish

I've had the most luck with the lab... I can't be bothered with doing all the training unless its on a free day.

Visit Coltzan's Shrine when your pet is young. Good way to up your stats.
Don't use the Training School first - use the 'Swashbuckling Academy' first as it works out quite a bit cheaper.

The lab map route is the one for you if you have patience, only cause you cant be guaranteed that you will gain stats. You might lose some.

Training school/ academy is the safe route although you have to pay for codestones/dubloons

Yeah the shrine works great for starters and also faerie quests give out stats too (if you reject a faerie quest make sure you go back to the page to reset it or you won't be getting any).

Lab ray has given my pet good stats... also i like to train him in the pirate school cause dubloons are less expensive that codestones xD. and sometimes i make kitchen quests, but i think the best way is training them in school

It'll be nice if TNT made a potion to gain automatic stats... i won't care to pay more instead of waiting in schools
    lol

I use the lab ray, coltzan, and faerie quests. Also scratchcards can help you gain a level for your pet.

The problem with the lab ray is that it usually increases your HP by tons, but ends up demolishing your defence. This means that if you ever want to stop zapping, it'll be really expensive to even the stats out so you can continue training normally

I agree but it does make you strenght and level high enough to train defence after you decide to not use the lab for a while ;)

No. You won't be able to train defence because your HP will be too high. You'll have to pay a load of money increasing your level before you'll be able to train defence because:

Frustrating, eh? I guess it's in order to stop the lab ray being such an easy option for battlers *shrugs*

The lab is okay, if you don't mind those days of not getting something good.

Faerie quest help a lot especially if you only have one pet in your account.

Defense matter depend on your weapon choice. Dual duty requires high def or otherwise pretty useless. I personally like to keep my def boost one higher than my str boost.
