I'm just curious what people's majors are/were, or what they think they will be when they get to college. Mine was environmental science, and I'm sticking with it through graduate school and a phd (or at least that's the plan ).
Mine was Business/Accounting. I rushed into a major and pretty much right before I was done with my degree I realized that it's not what I want to be doing for the rest of my life. XD If I could do it all over again, I'd go into Zoology/Marine Biology instead.
So what are you doing now, if business isn't what you want to do? I always wanted to be a marine biologist as a kid; it seemed like it would be so much fun.
I finished my degree almost two years ago, and still haven't been able to find a job in that field. But it's because of the crappy economy, too many out of work people with loads of experience which tops my degree with little experience. But I'm just biding my time until things start to turn around. Hopefully I'll be in the position eventually to maybe go back to school for something I want to do like zoology or something down that path. We'll see
Yea. I'm avoiding the work world as long as I can because it's so damned hard to find a good job. I was a music minor, and sometimes I wish I had stuck with that instead. So I can see where you are coming from Ang.
I started university with Biology as my major...after my second year I decided that I couldn't deal with the calculus and chemistry so I switched majors to Environmental Studies with a minor in Philosophy. In doing so I at least had the opportunity to experience most of the different courses available at my school, for which I am really grateful. I cannot stress enough to kids in high school how much you will NOT be prepare for university...it is just a total other ball game - not even on the same playing field! I wish someone would have given me a speech about the major differences in the curriculum...but regardless I did make it through! I graduated with a BA in Environmental Studies and I currently work at my family business which has zero to do with environmental studies LOL I had the opportunity to take a great job in my field, but at the time I was needed with the family so I declined the position...today, I still regret that :nope: but I am sure something will come along in the future!
Hah. I was gonna do biology as well, but I really didn't want to go through all the chemistry courses. Now it turns out that regardless, I will have to take chem 2 for my masters program.
My school system is a lot different than many others, but I major in English, German and Psychology. Yeah, three majors : D I'm not so good in German though, so I probably wont do anything about that later on, but I might do something about the Psychology thing. I thought about going to university with it, but I don't know yet. The plan right now is just to make some money in the army, then maybe join the police or go further with the Psychology. But I'm going to study Arabian for two years in the army now, so I might use that for something later on, who knows..
I'm going to college next year for computer programming. In the long run I just want to get started in learning the basics so I don't have to start off alone. Once I know the basics and can get a job programming things for clients then I can learn the rest on my own. However I have other plans on making money that I can do with just my high school art, computer, and building construction classes. Like making a website, designing ads, photography, film making, and some things I learned or can learn on the internet such as modding game consoles and building PCs. Hopefully this summer I can mod some game controllers or something to start off small and work my way up to building computers and selling them.
Hehe my major is pharmachy Something I didn't realize i'd do until the beginning of this year! But then again it's a typical asian route. I wish I could do something more unique at times ><
Either: Mathematical and Physical Sciences at University of Toronto; or Pure Mathematics at University of Waterloo (huge math school in Ontario, they actually have a faculty of Mathematics lol) Waterloo was my first choice, but now I'm having second thoughts =/ Cause I'm sure more people around the world know U of T than UW. And I kinda wanna stay at home now, I don't wanna move out.
There are a lot of sciences here lol. My major is mechanical engineering, but then I plan on getting my masters right after that. Just hope it doesnt kill me
Undergrad: Biomedical Engineering and Electrical Engineering BSE Grad: Neuroengineering MSE (in progress) Future plans: ??? PROFIT
lol, it sounds more intimidating than it actually is I've finished all my classes, now I'm just working on a Master's Thesis.
I'm a music major. One of the rare breed of male vocalists. Just finished my 2nd year I'm curious what you played while you minored in music? and why you chose not to follow through with that instead?
perhaps, but I wanted to be a book editor as a kid, then I grew up and came back to reality, and settled for being a rock star
