READ B4 voting as ther ARE conditions: OoOoOoOoOOk, So i made a deal with my parents about getting certain grades in order to get a car. I am going to be a junior next year, and watever car I get will be mine for 2 years and then my moms when I graduate, so It will be above average in terms of niceness. Ive presented this dilemma to many of my friends and have gotten basically 50/50 results... Lets see what you peeps can come up with. If I am to get my grandpas 2007 SLK350, It will have a chip installed inside that will make the speeds I have been driving available to my parents via the internet... (In other words, If I decide to accelerate 0-100mph, which i probably wudent do anyways, or if I was speeding... My parents could potentially find out if they were suspicious/bored and felt like checking) If I get the Audi A4, it will not have the chip and I am free to drive as I please. It actually is a REALLY hard decision when you think about it... Although the prices are within 2000$ of eachother, It is clear which car is cooler and nicer, but think of the freedom? Thanks for ur input! OHHH and some speed stats if you were curious: Audi-- wud take 7.1 seconds to get 0-60 mercedes-- wud take 5.5 seconds to do the same Its clear which is faster....
Well, Im currently driving my sisters 2005 volvo, and seriously, Ive hit 85+ without even noticing... I drive to school at 620 in the morning with no1 on the road, I cant Image how fast i could end up going taking my eyes of the speedometer with 305 horses at work
Choose the most enviromental friendly one. It should make a good impression on your parents as well, taking the more adult decision.
Lol, my moms getting a hybrid, but they both get about the same fuel economy heres the facts: The mercedes has a special engine that emits less harmful gases/CO2, and gets 19mpg.. The audi lacks this special engine and gets around 23mpg.. Im leaning towards the mercedes & hoping my parents dont check the thing on a day that Id been speeding.. Also, I wudent have to be the kid who drives every1 around with only 2 seats... It seems beneficial.
the mercedes! i really do not like audis, they aren't so great. i don't think of it as "freedom" to speed, it's easy to lose control when you're going at high speeds, you could hurt yourself or someone else. besides, the chip might give you incentive to stay at a completely legal speed all the time - no tickets, no fines!! kind of like those ladies who take 'alli' and never eat greasy foods b/c they're terrified of shitting themselves.
Im def leaning towards the mercedes... I dont really speed by much.. Around hear the speed limit is 65, and you wont get a ticket if ur under 75... I usually drive btw 75-80, which really isnt that ticketable either, but If i zone out, or have open space, sometimes I speed by alot by accident, thats wat im worried about with the chip, I just zone out for a minute and am goin 90 parents find out blablabla rip my head off... Welll! I will post a pic with me and w/e car i get come august!
Do you not think taking your friends for a road trip is fun? Personally I'd go for the Audi, more freedom and more fun
I would get the mercades, but take the chip out and say it broke if I could When you get a car, you want to drive fast... Maybe because my cousin did but he has a Lexus and it has a freakin button you press to go fast lol.
Lol, smelly, If I ever did end up roadtripping with my friends Id just go in one of their cars :yup:. And phobia, you cant break the chip, Im sure if I get the mercedes I'll just not speed on highways, but still do some tire peeling acceleration, which I dont think the chip can really bust me on.
Are you serious? What Lexus has NOS in it? Tard, I am talking about the power button which makes your auto shift be able to go higher if you like need to like speed up, so you can go racecar fast! Another warning for calling someone a tard, haha this is getting funny now, one more and its a two week ban oh well...
That blows. Get the Audi. You really really really don't want to be the guy who has a mercedes but doesn't joyride.
