I'm thinking of changing to Linux, but I don't know which to choose. I don't know the transition will be either, so, i'm looking for some feedback.
I am a big fan of Mac OS X. It looks nice and is stable and offers most of the functionality of linux for more advanced users. You should be fine with Linux. The command line is pretty much a requirement though which was a major turn off for me. I am okay going into the terminal but I prefer to avoid it if possible
Windows 2000 which wasn't on your list.... I like it mostly for it's stability, the only stable OS windows has ever made
windows xp home media centre great if u like the media things, good for listening to music and watching and burning movies.
There's something I don't get about those system... Why would I bother to install media center when I can do all the same things with xp pro ??? I've bought a TV tuner last year and this do the job.... maybe I missed something !?!?!
if u have a good quality monitor and a good quality player u can livestream tv shows and movies on the computer
windows vista except the beta version has so many bugs lol dude my friend could just drag the activation screen down and still use the os lol
I am a beta tester for windows vista(in my laptop) and tested it. It does have some flaws(or many flaws that i didnt notice) But usually it is quickly fixed after i suggested to microsoft. So be prepare to get a good new windows vista! Windows Vista Ultimate will be one of the best in future.
Linux. Yay. I'm getting ready to get it. I'm getting ready to either build a new desktop or buy a nice laptop. I'm thinking Alienware. But either way, I like Linux. So it will be somewhere on one of these computers shortly.
I was thinking of switching as well, right now I'm on windows, but I think I'm going to wait for the new Windows coming out this month. =P Vista, and see if I can find a keygen for it. If it's crap, then I'm going Linux or Mac.
I don't know about Vista... they said XP Pro was the end all... and yet there's been over 600 updates for security reasons... I think I'l wait for at least 6 months to see the feedback on Vista... or if it's just a repackaged XP
you see... if you ACTUALLY read the news about it then you'd know that UNLIKE XP or any other windows OS, they pushed back the release of Vista which was slated to be released last year, but was not so they instead could work on any bugs in the system
I'm a big fan of linux because of the ability to change whatever you don't like. I prefer to do it my way if you catch my drift . Other than that, I'd go with XP Pro as my second choice.
see most of the people here agree with me (xp pro)_ i got xp pro mainly because vista beta is crap still
