The title says it all. Who inspires you? Why? And what do they inspire you to do?

I've found different people inspire me every day and for totally random reasons. Take today.. i had minor surgery on my foot this morning for an ingrown toenail. Just talking to the podiatrist during the procedure (it was only local anesthetic) and we got talking about how we both want to go to the UK next year. It totally re-invigorated my desire to get travelling and I've increased my direct-payment into my savings account to make it happen sooner!

well my parents went from poor to rich, so you could say that they're my inspiration :)

but as for popular culture, it would be eminem or tupac. they both have a lot to tell :yup:

Wow, I would hate having surgery on my foot. But for who inspires me? My grandfather, since he was an artist, though I never met him since he died when my mother was 3. >.>

Try watching surgery being performed on your own foot :p
I can't even walk, it's like being a baby again, i hate being dependent on others.

That's interesting, because the person who's been the most inspirational and influential to me this year is also an artist.

I hope you'll recover soon from your surgery :)
Currently a lot of movies/tv shows inspire me, because someday I want to shoot a movie :yup: I just need a little more money for a good camera.
But I don't want to become a producer or anything.. I want to do it for fun.

On becoming a better person, I'd have to say my godchild. He means more to me than I can describe.
When it comes to work choice and studies, several teachers has lead me to the path I'm on today, and I owe it all to them. =)

i heard people are trying to test him for steroids or something. hopefully he doesnt use them, because that would destroy his role model image for a lot of kids

I'm a fan of him too, and I don't think he has ever used them. He has been tested so many times, and never even 1 result.

Believe me Lance Armstrong has never, ever used steroids or performance enhancing drugs. Why would he? He doesn't need to, he's already got the best performance-enhaner available to him - his body; He's a genetic freak. His heart is physically larger than the average human heart by 33%, and can pump 36 litres (9 gallons) per minute compared with the average of 20 litres (5 gallons). Not only that, his lungs absorb more than twice as much oxygen as the average. His mussels produce half the lactic acid, and expel it faster. Most people get 20% of the oxygen they breath converted into muscle power. Armstrong gets 23%, which is almost the highest ever recorded. All of this means he can put more power into the pedals with every breath, and recover faster, and this is why we see him take off up the hills in front of everyone. His body is so unique that without training he would still be in better physical condition than the average person in peak condition. And he's been able to get his body fat down to 4-5% and maintain it there. The average is 15-17%. An example of his fitness is his resting heart rate being 32. An average fit person's would be 60-70.

So in short, really, it's not Lance Armstrong that inspires you, it's the work his parents did in the bedroom 36 years ago.

    Coincidentally today is his birthday.

To say Lance Armstrong is not a role model or only one because of his genetics is hilarious. Every athlete you find will have a much higher conditioning than the average person. You can't say genetics alone has got him into that kind of shape, that came with years of biking and training. That's only the half of it too, hes also a hero to many because of his philanthropic pursuits.
