i've seen multiple movies, and i would have to say my all around favorite actor would have to be Denzel Washington! American Gangster, Book of Eli (AMAZING). He's just all around outstanding. Discussion?
Waah Denzel is great but nobody surpasses Johnny Depp... The Secret Window, Chocolate and the Burton/Depp movies just rock XD
Joseph-Gordon Levitt is pretty kickass if most of his movies. I also never really noticed Andrew Garfield but his performance in both the Social Network and Dr. Parnassus were great. I'm gonna keep my eye on him. As for actresses, I would have to give it to Rachel McAdams. Not only is she smokin' but she's been in some great films. Yeah most are romantic comedies, but hey, they were all enjoyable ones.
Alan Rickman! He's the best... But I love how Johnny Depp is completely different in every movie we see him. I mean, Willy Wonka, Sweeney Todd, Roux... it's just amazing! As for actress, I have to choose Julie Andrews! It's a pity we don't have more actresses as talented as her. Today it's all about your pretty face and your nice body, not your acting skills... and sometimes neither of them *cough*kristenstewart*cough*
I like Al Pacino and Johnny Depp. John travolta is another favorite of mine. Al Pacino was awesome in scarface, of course, but also awesome in Scent of A Woman and Carlito's way. Johnny Depp was great in Fear and Loathing. John Travolta and Samuel Jackson are good in Pulp Fiction.

My favorite actor is Tom Hanks.He is a versatile actor capable of playing a kid on a film and a soldier under fire or an astronaut faces an uncertain fate in others. He also produced and directed the incredible series Brothers Band among others.
