Im not sure where to post this so I hope it's ok to post here.

Why do you need firefox and foxy proxy if you are going to SS and/or AB?
If you have IE, can't you just use a proxy through IE ?

I always see people saying to use firefox and foxyproxy. Why is this? I downloaded it and all and it seems easier to just change IE proxy and do all the ab'ing/SSing through there. I am not really loving the whole firefox look either. Maybe I am just too used to IE. What can go wrong if you just use IE?

I hope someone can explain? thank you!

Firefox is generally more stable, and faster.

I just think most people dislike Internet Explorer.

hmm, thanks! I wonder if it's just the reason of speed that they dislike IE. To me, using IE would be easier.

I think TNT posted something about the site not being compatible with IE anymore or something along those lines in the news a couple weeks ago? Anybody else know what I'm talking about?

You don't need firefox and foxy proxy to SS or AB, it's just optional.

By the way, you don't need Foxy Proxy to change proxies on Firefox. And IE is still the second slowest browser, slightly faster than Safari. Google Chrome is #1 (my personal favorite), followed by Firefox (which you can enable optional pipelining)...

Do you recommend using Chrome and changing proxies through there? I wonder why people recommend using foxyproxy with firefox?

Yeah, but if you can just change proxies in firefox without foxy proxy, then why bother adding it as an extension? That's my question, lol

I've never used proxies on FF without FP. But for ease of access I assume? It takes one click to switch from one proxy to another.

For convenience. With Foxy Proxy, you have much more features. For example, you can make it so that you only visit certain sites on a proxy. Unlike the general firefox settings where you can set a proxy, which uses the proxy for ALL sites.

That's just one feature I can remember as to why people choose FP over normal FF settings
