Alright, so in science I have to write up a 2 page essay about wind power. I don't understand why, but I am having a DIFFICULT time typing this essay. Basically, its a 2 page essay (double spaced) about wind power. I need a intro paragraph, discussion (how it is used) and an economic, society benefit paragraph. Also, environmental issues/impact/concerns. This is what I have so far: Wind power is the conversion of using wind energy to make a useful form of energy, such as electricity. To do this, wind turbines are used. The wind turbines are a machine that converts the kinetic energy in wind into a mechanical energy. If the mechanical energy is used directly by machinery, such as a pump or grinding stones, the machine is usually called a windmill. If the energy is then converted to electricity, the machine is called a wind generator, wind turbine, or wind energy converter. Large wind farms are typically connected to the local electric power transmission network, with smaller wind turbines being used to provide electricity to certain locations. There are many economic and social benefits of using wind power. For one, it has created a new, multibillion-dollar industry and tens of thousands of new jobs. Secondly, it is reducing the carbon dioxide emissions globally. In Germany, the Government recently pledged to reduce its carbon dioxide emissions to 40-percent below 1990 levels by 2020. Yeah, so can anyone give me any ideas/suggestions to add on to this, because I am having a really tough time. Willing to rep+ for anyone who helps. ASAP please
Lack of prime real-estate for new efficient turbines means that wind power is limited at best Also - inefficient conversion of energy Storing energy is a bitch Wind turbines = ugly, kills wildlife, etc
Relate it to other sources of alternative energies, and try to look for news on wind power technologies. You can also give a timeline, who's responsible for wind energy technology, and the development of the idea. Compare the ability to afford the technology between developed and developing nations. You can also talk about the future of this technology, and how people want to improve it. Although wiki is a good place to start, it's super bad for essay referencing.
