Mine should be arriving this week..

And I think it's meant to be faster than Vista. Not considerably faster, but I think there's meant to be a marginal difference..

I have heard of Windows 7, but not heard ABOUT windows 7.

What are going to be the actual differences between 7 and vista?

Cause vista sucked and was expensive o_o

I'm gonna wait awhile before I buy it. See how everyone likes it before I upgrade. Vista got awful review which is y I didn't get vista.

    Who cares?
I am using Windows Vista here. Yes, it does indeed suck.
I should know, I've been living with Vista AND DIAL-UP since 2007. Why does my system hate me?
(Just kidding, I know my system doesn't really hate me, but it sure seems like it sometimes.)

New taskbar(try it and you will know the difference)...Less system resource usage than vista!!!Optimized vista = windows 7..And much more..

I already have it and its working good as of now!!Let us see how it holds up in the long run!!

I'm still with Windows XP ;o

I've tried Windows 7 on someone else's laptop and, yes, I like it! Love the layout and taskbar.

And yes, Windows Vista stinks. It's just pretty, nothing else. The other day, while preparing for a presentation, the laptop that we used went crazy (it kept opening web browsers non-stop, even when we tried to use the Task Manager to shut them down). We had to shut down the computer forcefully in order to get it to stop. Lost loads of files during the process ._.

I still have Windows XP. I honestly couldn't care less about what system I am using (Unless it's ME or whatever that old version is called) xD I never notice when I'm on a vista, I always think all systems are XP :p I know how to use Xp, so I'm just gonna stick what that I guess. Unless Windows come up with something extremely new and awesome :D

Are they making a new Office too ? Because I just got used to Office 2007 : D

I installed W7 4 days ago and it's running damn good.

Firstly, W7 is using alot less ram than the older system.
Vista X64 with 2gb of ram was taking almost 55% just after the startup.
Now it's ~35%. I had no compatibility issues, all my programs are working like they're suppose to.
W7 doesn't feel faster than vista ATM but I'm sure it is more optimized. I was about to stay with Vista but I was having problem sharing media to my Xbox360 so I had to reinstall the OS so I decided to go with W7.

But, there's some weird thing in this release, but it can be fix.
-The taskbar is TOO HUGE. You can revert it to the size of the one in vista.
-Where's the quicklaunch ??? Finally found it but by default, it's disabled.
-Running Live Messenger open 2 windows at all time in the taskbar... This one was a big WTF !!!
Solved the issue too but I ain't saying how XD
-Media center is always opening in 16:9 format but I have a 4:3 screen. Finally found the cure but I had to do ALOT of research.
-W7 sometimes become laggy for a 1-2 seconds but I suspect my little 2gb of ram causing disk swapping.
Minimum RAM for W7 X64 is 2 gb.

Overall, run as well as vista for now, the security system is less intrusive and I'm now able to share media to my Xbox360 so I like it !

Actually, they are making Office available free online...this is to compete with what Google is coming out with to go with Chrome OS

WOW, they are making it free? Do you have any links, I couldn't seem to find it on google? oO and when is this?

EDIT: LOL, it was because Iwas searching for Windows 7 not office 2010 xD lol. Anyways, if it's just free online, I probably wouldn't use it. I think I'm just gonna stick to 2007, I love onenote :p

close live messenger completely (check in task manager to be sure it's really closed).
Go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Live\Messenger" (the path might be different if you're using a 32 bits version of W7)
Right click --> properties --> Compatibility tab, use this program with "vista" setting in the listbox.

The Chrome OS will be awesome. I have no doubt. It's what Google needs to get back at Microsoft for the whole Bing v Google thing that Microsoft have been going out of their way with to compete with Google.

Is the Chrome OS going to be free?
