Got an offer of salford for 80 ucas points haha I'll get into manchester because you only need ABB, but i'm not going college forced me to apply
congrats I'm also applying this year.. got to go to york and back tomorrow for an interview. It's nearly 4 hours on the train lol. oo I forgot you'd be applying this year SoC only ABB - I think most people would consider that pretty high :tehe: and how can your college force you to apply to a uni!? :s what course are you guys applying for?
york nice where else you applying? And they put you on a stage 1 warning if you don't apply because they want everyone to go uni Load of bollocks So i wrote a rubbish personal statement, let my tutor shout at me, and then said i wasn't changing it, so she gave up and sent it. Im not wasting my life filling in a form thats no use to me. And ABB isn't hard imo. If you put effort in, no matter what subject you can get A's. And i applied for accounts at salford, maths at manchester and manchester met, and accounts at manchester and manc met.
My conditional was for English at Goldsmiths there are "better" universities I could get into but I wanted to go to London and Goldsmiths is a liberal arts college so in my mind it will teach English better than scientific or mathematical based universities. That is why I applied to 4 different English courses in Goldsmiths xD I already got my conditional for the best course though. I applied to Queen Mary's as well because my college kept heckling me to apply to a higher grade course. My English at Goldsmiths was ABB which shouldn't be hard to get ^^ Wo0t I'll get a University of London degree if all goes to plan =]
http://extras.timesonline.co.uk/tol_gug ... =15&sub=25 Goldsmiths is 29th for english Queens mary is 18th. Depending on grades, UCL and royal holloway would of been a good applicant place also. Royal holloway is amazing, i spent a week there during the summer WODNERFUL PLACE! but personally,i wouldnt go london xD
Oh right cool. so you don't actually even want to go uni next year? I applied to Southampton, Imperial, York, Warwick and Lougborough for software engineering/compsci. I have offers from 3 and am waiting to hear from imperial after having an interview last week... mmh I'm not really sure which uni I'll pick at all yet though :/ People always say I should go for Imperial because it's so "well respected" and the employment prospects are so high for CS grads there.. but I'm not sure I will firm it if I do get an offer. It's a great place but it just seems a bit too work oriented and some of the undergrads I talked to seemed a bit depressed lol.
wow turning down imperial. thats a big mistake in my view. and i dont wna go uni at all, I want an accounts apprenticeship. Just gotta find a company
I'm choosing Goldsmiths because I like the university and lecturers it's really quirky and creative and that is where I want to learn English. Queen Mary & Kings were both options but I don't like how science orientated they are and I would rather shoot myself than go to Oxford or Cambridge. xD Even Cardiff where I am now "beats" Goldsmiths I don't like those lists I want to be able to be creative with English and the majority of universities at the top of the list would turn English into a non creative dull subject for me. Imperial has damn nice buildings when I was wondering around London lost I think I saw the majority of them xD
