http://www.forbes.com/feeds/ap/2007/10/ ... 02565.html Good article, I suggest reading. Looks like next season might have a new coach and approach!! Kind of interesting if you like MLB. What will the Yankees be like next year?
Its Torre, get your facts straight. And yes, chances are Torre will be gone, as a yankees fan, I am not very happy right now.
Okay so here's my question, why fire Joe Torre? Hasn't he made the playoffs for the last 13 years straight and won the World Series four times? Just because the Yankees haven't made it out of the first round in a few years, why does the blame fall on Joe Torre? I don't know, I just don't understand how management of sports teams works. At what point do you stop blaming the managers and finally blame the players that are actually playing the game?
I suppose if he spelled it as Torry it could have been a clever pun. Get it? End of story? As for me, don't follow the sport. So I couldn't give you an opinion
As a Yankees fan, I hope they don't get rid of Torre. He's done his job to get us to the playoffs every year, this year from a huge deficit facing many injuries throughout the season. (I think they used about 13 different starting pitchers this year) You can't put the blame on him if every year our pitching just doesn't get it done in the postseason. Never has it been his fault that we were knocked out of the playoffs, it has always been the players who just decide not to show up until the 3rd game of the sieries when it's too late.
