Woo. I'm not the only one who confessed to liking figure skating. My room mates (all male) keep teasing me about it.

I like figure skating.. used to like it more when I was younger. My favorite was the guy who would do back flips on the ice.. he was great XD I'm more of a Summer Olympics fan, I've never really gotten into the winter olympics for some reason, it seems like it's pretty fun to watch though so I might try to catch some of it :)

The opening ceremonies were OK - not the best I've seen...a little bit longish
and I found it was a bit of a showcase for Aboriginal culture rather than Canadian culture - however, I did enjoy it
It was quite unfortunate that the cauldron didn't come up like it was supposed to, but the torch bearers handled it well.

I didn't see the opening this year.. but to those that did, do you think it topped Beijing's Summer Olympic Opening Ceremony? (if that's even possible :p)

definitely didn't top beijing but I actually thought they were pretty decent.
There was a clip of this snowboarder going down a big mountain to begin the whole thing, and it looked really neat, then the same guy does a jump through one of the olympic rings onto the stage xP
    It was pretty sweet!
The overall opener had its moments, although the middle got kind of boring. They had a cool idea of that screen on the stage though .. they didn't use it enough though, it was kind of a wasted opportunity. D:

i saw it, i thought the fiddler was bat man, or some downtown east side cocaine dealers. lol, punk fiddlers.

i did like the he/she dude who was flying....the rope was tooo obvious. but they did a great job with the effects that were projected onto the stage.
