Its way more logical that aliens DO exist then that they DON't exist. I watched a documentary at discovery channel and it showed some stuff that just HAD to be created by aliens. so yea...
im pretty sure there is and theyre watching us but they cant come here because of the many bacteriums that would kill them within the hour.
i remember watching a movie about extra terrestrial life and it would be difficult for aliens to come onto our planet because of the gravity/ect. that's why you always see in pix that they're deformed because of their gravity or whatever they have on their planet. therefore, it would be difficult for them to ever come onto the planet without being deformed the very second into like a ball or something. o__O
Wow your theory is comforting but i have to agree with: Aliens may have a different biological make up and they thus may display different characteristics. As such it may not be very accurate to think that they will evolve the same way as us. They may have certain violent tendencies(this might bring out the competitive edge in them and push their technological levels up). Or they may have extremely non-violent tendencies. It all depends. However i have to agree that you theory should be correct if the aliens are similar to us. I hope they are!! :yup:
well, a lot of the other planets in our solar system are very different to earth, so I guess its safe to say that the planet any aliens come from will be different to earth, so maybe, just like we can't really walk around on pluto, maybe they can't walk around on earth. I doubt that though. because the theory is that they're so technologically evolved, I doubt it would affect them much That would only be true if the gravity on their planet was a tenth of what it was on earth though...
Haha, there's only a couple of planets that have been discovered that have similar climates, atmosphere, water as Earth, and one of them's 20 light years away! So a planet like Earth is ... very rare. Yeah, a lot of people think of aliens as being technologically advanced, but they could also be primitive, like bacteria. If life did exist out there, I think more primitive life forms would be more likely than the dudes you see in the movies. It does depend on the gravity that the aliens grew up on. If they come from a planet with a much more heavy gravity, then Earth would be similar to what the Moon's gravity is to us. But if they grew up in a planet with a gravity much lighter than Earth's, they wouldn't have the muscle strength to move, and I would imagine it would be like under the sea. You would get crushed from the extreme pressure that the Earth's pull is on you.
Maybe they can adapt to the change in gravity and pressures like how humans can. An eg of adaptations to increase in pressures is with divers that go very deep into the ocean.
Those divers are not adapting to changes in pressure, they are just able to withstand the pressure. And the pressure in the deeper parts of the ocean, which can get to eleven kilometres deep, no diver could withstand that. Or get that deep from diving. Aliens that could withstand our Earth's gravity are more likely to be strong enough to. Just like divers, up to a certain extent. If you went on a planet that was ten times the Earth's gravity, let's say you weighed 50kg. You would weigh 500kg on that planet, but your muscles would still work as if it would work on earth. I'm not sure if you would survive, but you wouldn't be able to move.
I dont know for usre what is out there in outer space, but some simple logic should work, lol! our sun is just one star, and every other star in the sky has its own sun. so is there really any way for us to say that with the billions of stars in the sky that none of them have any life on there planets? i think that is stretching things to far, there has to be life o ut there somewhere.
I agree. The universe is constantly expanding, so to say that in the huge huge huge universe, thats constantly getting huger, we're the only life forms? but why? We evolved, so why would they stay bacteria? or primitive?
I'm not saying that they stayed bacteria, I'm saying there has not been enough selection pressures for them to evolve. Bacteria are able to survive in more extreme environments. They can survive in a greater heat, radiation (many times more than cockroaches) and in different atmospheres. If you consider that the conditions on that planet just aren't suitable for higher levels of life, it might not be able to sustain beings such as humans, but are able to sustain bacteria. And just because they are bacteria doesn't mean that they have to evolve. There have been some living bacteria found on Earth that are 500,000 years old! If it's a formula that works for that species to survive, like that 500k year old bacteria, there isn't a need to change it. Not to mention that cyanobacteria fossils found on Earth date back to 3.5 billion years ago. So when you consider that, you need proper conditions to sustain higher life, and it takes time. Considering that the Earth's atmosphere used to be mainly made from CO2 and water vapour, with virtually no oxygen, it's not surprising. It took a long time for bacteria to produce oxygen from photosynthesis, and all forms of higher life use oxygen.
so why did we evolve from bacteria? we have a rather friendly enviroment compared to some other planets, so why didn't we stay bacteria? and who says that there aren't enough selection pressures for them to have had to evolve? I'm just saying, who says that those bacteria weren't there long before us, giving them longer to have the chance to evolve? and who is to say that those planets are suitable to sustain life? Aliens might be totally different to us, and just because we wouldn't have been able to evolve and survive there, maybe they could. I can't believe that we're the only sentient beings in the entire universe
