Er, um, firstly I'm female, and secondly, I don't see that as abuse, either. I don't hit my cat; I just push it to try to get it off my keyboard.
Isn't hitting something and pushing something pretty much the same thing though? I mean, you are touching the cat with force in both situations.
Yeah, I suppose, but HITTING as opposed to PUSHING...in my mind I can see/feel a difference. (I mean, getting hit as opposed to being pushed...like in the hallways at school, someone trying to get through and pushing me lightly I don't mind, but when the...ahh...people of particular races see a little Asian girl and decide I'm sufficiently unimportant to get thwacked, there's a difference.)
So I can push a cat off a 100 story building- as long as I don't HIT him lol?! :-/ --- I think there is no difference between hitting something and pushing something. They are both physical contact with force. I have a scenario, which is going to be incredably thrilling and intense (and scary). Only click below if you agree not to flame. Spoiler Say someone rapes you, but they only PUSH you. They don't hit you. Do you suppose that they are then not being physical and not guilty of a crime? Yeah, I know, rape sucks. It's not a joke.
Anyone who thinks animal abuse is okay should be labelled a sociopath, sadist and all-round freak. 'Nuff said.
I think in this situation, the hitting/pushing is not really the thing to be focusing on. As for the pushing/hitting - pushing is usually no where near as painful/damaging as hitting (taking into account JUST the pushing/hitting) because when you are pushed, it generally a larger area of contact (and usually not as fast), where as hitting generally a much smaller area of contact and the strike is usually much faster, thus more painful/damaging. and I believe a better term for Anfan could have been 'nudge', or 'prod' the cat off the keyboard. edit: I think Anfan was just trying to get across that there is a difference between pushing and hitting - and not justifying other actions with one but not the other.
well of the point of ppl who abuse animals i watch programs about niglected beaten and what ever else sick things they do with animals everyday on tv and most of them are just like so what did i do its only an animal gosh how much i hate that answere every animal has the right to be protected from ppl like that we dont have the rspca and other organisations for nothing there is still to many ppl out there not respecting an animal the way they should be respected you dont let ur anger out on a living thing you dont amuse ur self with a living thing no matter if animal or human we all have feelings and many just get abused its just so wrong
Animal abuse is terrible. Animals mostly cannot and will not defend themselves like humans can. I know it sounds messed up, but id rather see people beat other people up than see an animal hurt. It is totally wrong and makes me sick when I see an animal abused. I love animals.
I have to agree with Will, I don't agree with animal abuse, but the flying squirrel in the signature CRACKS me up for some reason... Does that make me a sociopath, sadist or freak?
Sometimes for one odd reason or another we are amused by something we shouldn't be its like how people are drawn to accidents and what not I wouldn't let it worry you. Most arguments I've heard sound oddly like a referendum New Zealand is having "Should a smack as part of good parental correction be a criminal offence in New Zealand?" If your attempting to train them or teach them that something is dangerous or something I would say it would be fine. Stuff like coaxing two dogs to rip each other to shreds I find horrendously barbaric, using pets as an outlet for anger is not only unfair but if likely to lead to other forms of violence (eg. domestic violence) you get a taste for it and it only gets worse. While we may be the dominant species now, what if we were not in some point in the future? I'd sure hope we wouldn't get kicked around.
