This is just a quick guide to show how to curve off corners on an image with gimp!
(i thought this would be easy but only found out how to do it today)

    1) start gimp

    2) load image

    3) Add transparency to the image. This can be done by going layer/transparency/add alpha channel
This could already be selected (it would be greyed out)

    4) Select the whole of the image Ctrl+A or select/all

    5) Use the rounded rectangle tool select/rounded rectangle

    6) When the new dialogue pops up select the % you would like to curve. I used 20% for my avatar just to give you an idea! Make sure concave is not ticked unless you wish to have that sort of corner.

    7) Invert the image select/invert

    8) Cut what is selected edit/cut

    9) Your done! Simple curved corners now at your finger tips!!

    Hope this helps :)

Saph made an avvie with your name on it...you can't see it?
    It's pretty.

And I fail at picture-making, but it's nice to know how to curve things if I ever get dedicated enough to actually make something. :) Woo, guide!

there are heaps of photoshop ones because its the most popular, but gimp is starting to get pretty popular too so you might be seeing a lot of these in the near future

I agree that there should be more GIMP tutorials or guides.
