So why is it that just about all moderately intelligent species develop affection? I am no scientist, but I am fairly positive that when when singe-cell organisms reproduce A-sexxually, they do not develop any sort of affection towards one another. So when did we go from emotionless, single cell organisms to multi-cell organisms with loads of affection for our offspring. maybe i am missing something obvious.
It's an instinctive response caused by familiarity and knowledge of safety that developed from self-preservation instincts, which in turn can all be boiled down to chemical reactions in the brain. It's a strictly physical reaction that can be entirely and scientifically explained. "When"? Over several million years of evolution. There was no sudden revelation in which one man suggested everybody stop bashing eachother with clubs because the magic invisible sky giant said so. It's a process of gradual development. It would certainly seem so.
I wish I did believe in Heaven and Hell so I could be a better person, but I just can't bring myself to put in all the effort to be saintly and perfect for something that I don't even know exists. Reincarnation, for me, is the most comforting because I like life and after I die, I don't want to just be. I want to experience after death.
I think that the possibility for there being an afterlife is there, but I believe it is rather slim. Anyways, the mindset I have towards this is that if there is one - there is, and if not, then so be it.
Invisible-man thing(s) puts an invisible-soul thing into a meat thing. When meat thing expires, invisible-man thing judges the invisible-soul thing according to how well invisible-soul thing obeyed invisible-man thing's orders, which are written in many of his books. OR The reason why you can see invisble-man thing is because he is not there (or it doesnt matter whether he is there or not). We are judged by eachother and treat others based on how we judge them. If someone deserves to be judged poorly, they deserve be treated poorly; and vice versa. We set our own laws, and our own standards. You decide.
Random question! Umm no I don't actually... Not too sue about heaven or hell :/ or spirits or any of that.
The after life is all a bit surreal to me. When you die, you die. Your body doesn't opperate anymore. And about your soul living the afterlife, well that's just strange. It seems to me that people only think of it to make dying more appealing than it already is (not very).
