Im curious about this as well. The habitarium.. but more so the item generating. Is this some sort of code? or program that they used? I'm not asking for someone to tell me how to do it, I guess just the theory behind it.
Sometimes, it's so easy we don't even think about it... I.e.: Once upon a time, there was a glitch with the neodeck... all you had to do was add a " ' " at the end of the url to remove a card and the card would stay in the deck and a new one would be added in your inventory.
I duped key quest earlier and got 2 starry paint brushes, unfortunately I don't know how I did it, my internet was just laggy and it happened to cash my gold key twice.
Not that I am really just necroing, but apparently someone(s) duping items, and if you chill out at the money tree you can see what I mean. It's a little obvious, but you have to wait a bit. I was poking around grabbing cheapie items, and I started seeing a (LARGE) influx of the same item by the same user. I don't just mean like 2 or 4, but like 15, and not just like dung or anything either. Generally painted petpets and just random stuff.
Were you talking about right now? Just seen a page of seasonal battle ducks... got excited but it seems they are not worth what they were when I played alot LOL. Saying that.. I did get 5k Edit: Ah nvm, was confusing them with Dark Battle Duck.
Yeah it was right now. Whoever it was put like 5 or so sets of different purple petpets with like 10-20 of each of them. Then someone started putting in a bunch of pirate items, like a whole page's worth of one type. It was just very sketch, regardless of their prices.
Eh don't remember usernames, seeing nothing on the boards about it. Ehhh... I don't know...maybe someone was just scrapping gallery items or soemething.
There was 3 or 4 different usernames doing it, one person with the purple petpets, and one person with the pirate stuff. I really don't think it was someone purging, because the girl with the petpets was either a noob or a shell. @___@ I don't remember the account names exactly but 2 or 3 of them were very similar.
Lol I would definitely believe that it's more chance of accident than skill. I personally have duped an item once, back when I was starting out. It definitely was a complete accident, because it was before I could even fathom cheating on neo. Unfortunately for me it was a cheapo petpet like a horus.
It isn't just an accident. If you duped an item and you couldnt find out how to do it again than it was probably a glitch when neo first started. Nothing on your part These items weren't duped. They were generated from nothing. For example person X could make 300 MSPP's if they wanted to.... WAS NOT AN ACCIDENT. lol
I think he meant that he wasn't trying to do it on purpose. He was not 'looking' for the glitch, but he accidentally, unintentionally found a glitch in the coding of Neopets.
Old duping = win. Change source code on withdraw page to 0.1 for the withdraw link... (from SDB).. Would withdraw one and then leave one in SDB.. Haha.. My mate did that to a bunch of things and got to keep a few... I did it and kept a few, but majority of those acounts eventually got iced (for scamming of all things... think someone saw the account with items and assumed i scammed.. who knows.)
I just love how stuff like this is possible, and that people keep finding new ways of doing it. :yup: I just wish i had the smarts to understand that all. Im only good at being a Sys Admin. Programing and script editing or anything with large amounts of code makes me go to sleep.
