Well, it depends on what you define 'ok' to be. Okay in the eyes of? One's acceptance towards it? Or the law? Surely people will have differing views on this (as seen from this thread), but the law needs to make the best decision for its society, depending on the society's needs. For me, although I'm a little awkward about it, I think it shouldn't be disallowed. But still, even if it's disallowed, I'm fine with it, because everyone has differing views ;o
Personally I think its nasty and not the way things where ment to be in the eyes of god or our society, but thats just me.
Yeah, I have nothing against gay people getting married. I mean, if they want to commit to each other and they love each other, how is that going to affect other people?
I probably posted in the other thread but oh well... Marriage isn't just about Christianity, wth. Not only Christians get married. That's like saying a Jewish couple can't get married because they wouldn't do it in a church... or an Athiest couple, for that matter. A lot of people never step foot in a church for their marriage ceremony. And anyway, what does it matter to people if a couple is married or not married? It won't impact them personally. It only matters to the couple. People should just mind their own business. And thinking a couple is "icky" should never matter for GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS, either. Going by that, ugly/fat people shouldn't be allowed to get married. As for "god not liking it," separation of church and state, anyone? tl;dr: I'm for it.
I'm fine with gay marriage. I mean, everyone should have equal rights. There's a difference between civil union and marriage, as well as the benefits that come with both. Marriage has more benefits, and those benefits should be available for all.
