While GIMP may have most of the tools you can employ in photoshop, it's still nowhere near as good as photoshop, or illustrator.

I'm not an avid user of photoshop, I use illustrator more for vector work, etc and sometimes import to modify some designs, but those I know who do use photoshop (cracked, ofcourse) would be perfectly happy to use GIMP.

I think GIMP is a good start for those who are looking to get into graphic creation.. and maybe they can get a cracked version, or buy a legit version of photoshop in the future.

I don't think Photoshop is really worth 100 bucks more then Gimp... When you look at it, you can do most of the things with Gimp that PS can do. And PS is also ''older'' than Gimp, just give Gimp the time to ''grow up'' =)

While GIMP is newer and cheaper, Photoshop has heaps of downloadable content, like brushes, gradients, etc.

    You can't beat that :/

Yes, but I'm sure if more people would use Gimp, they would make that content...

GIMP's a good thing to use for beginner work, when you don't want to pay for a real version of Photoshop. If you can get Photoshop cracked, for free, I'm sure 99.99% of people would choose that over GIMP.

But as I said before, GIMP is still a great program.

You get what you pay for. Photoshop will always be better, but GIMP will always be free.
